https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/07/22/why-kissinger-went-to-china-again-00107676 Remarkable that he is still able to travel such a great distance at such an advanced age.

I think him giving up performing is what really made him succumb to his disease.

Jane Fonda - Controversial Princess of a Hollywood Dynasty
dimreaper replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
https://www.insider.com/jane-fonda-says-robert-redford-has-an-issue-with-women-2023-5 Her sharing these details about another living high profile actor makes me wonder if her cancer has returned. Almost like she wants to get things off her chest and doesn't care if it burns bridges cause she knows she doesn't have much time left. -
https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/theyre-coming-end-jimmy-carters-grandson-gives-update-beloved-former-president/F2DGY2P2QFG6NDUF7DCKHLYGOE/ Her grandsons comments make me think her health situation is as precarious as her husbands. I'm guessing they will pass in quick succession.

From what I read, he was told it was terminal back in 2020, but h's since gotten a second opinion from other medical professionals who have told him it's treatable.
-
I was about to same the exact same thing, although he doesn't look terrible either.

Thanks Tracy. Also found another qualifying obit. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/ap-arizona-japanese-utah-navy-b2325021.html

Ken Potts who was a unique pick just passed. Still waiting on a qualifying obit, but he may be heading to the list of the lost.

Is it speculation, or has his family come out and confirmed he has dementia?

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but it has suddenly occurred to me that Norton Knatchbull, 3rd Earl Mountbatten of Burma (born 1947) has been noticeably absent from royal events the last few years. At the funerals of Prince Philip and the Queen, his wife Penny was photographed attending, but I cannot find any evidence or photos suggesting that he attended either events. This seems strange given how close the Mountbatten family is to the royals. I remember there was talk of his health back in 2016 when Charles walked his daughter down the aisle instead of her father, and the last time he appeared in public was at his mother's funeral back in 2017. Again, if this has already been discussed on the site, I apologize. Just wondering if anyone's heard anything.

Nikolai Ryzhkov who was premier of the Soviet Union from 1985 to 1991. That classifies him as a state leader regardless of how well known he is.

I actually think I read somewhere that June Carter was actually a distant relative of Jimmy Carter.
-
You are correct considering that Jimmy is receiving hospice, although in the most recent pictures i've seen of her, she looked quite frail. Physically, she looks to be in rougher shape than the Queen looked this time last year.
-
I honestly don't think it's impossible she could pass before Jimmy.

Here's something I just thought about. Jimmy Carter's hospice announcement came on the two year anniversary of Bob Dole announcing he had lung cancer. Dole who was in his 98th year at the time of the announcement lasted until December 5. While Carter doesn't have lung cancer, their are whispers he's suffering from a recurrence of brain cancer. I wonder what the chances are he could match Dole by lasting until the end of the year.

I honestly thought both brothers had passed.

After January 22, 1973, Richard Nixon was not only the oldest living president, but the only living president.

It's never been officially confirmed, but it's believed they sent him home from the hospital so he could die at home. They could have kept him in longer, but it was his wishes to die at home. This of course has never been confirmed by the royal family, but i've heard a few people float the idea at the time.

Prince Philip passed three weeks after he stopped receiving medical treatments. I suspect Carter will have around the same amount of time.

Hasn't Frank Field been in hospice for over a year now. Of course, he's nearly two decades younger than Carter.
