Apologies. To me the whole point of the deathlist is about big name public figures and celebrities. Not anyone who has a wikipedia page. I'll be more mindful in the future.

I meant figures well known enough to warrant there own thread. Of these four, only William Russell has a thread, but even he has never had a spot on the official list.

Given the political adds he ran this summer for his daughters congressional campaign, I'd consider him a safe drop from the '23 list. Regardless of his health history, he appears to have more than a year left in him.

It just hit me that as of 2022, Phillips and the Queen were the last living British public figures associated with the WW2 war effort. One could argue David Attenborough is of the same generation, but he didn't serve or volunteer during the war.

I think adding him to the official list seems "pitchy".

Also heard he's in arrears with the IRS.

A Christmas time departure for MacGowan would be appropriate given his hit song.

I read on another death list thread a few months back (can't remember which one) that his health was deteriorating. Might be a solid pick for '23.

Interesting to think that between Jan of 1973, and Nixon's resignation, there were no living former presidents.

and Truman passed in Dec of 1972.

Since 2017, the number 50 slot has been a reliable host for death list successes (Ian Brady, Mark Smith, Johnny Clegg, Peter Sutcliffe, Tom Moore). With just 50 days left in the year, what do you feel the chances are of this streak continuing for '22?

I feel Maggie Smith is slightly more active than Gambon these, but i'm just going off what I've read.

The Harry Potter series has now lost two cast members (Robbie Coltrane & Leslie Phillips) in the last three weeks. As a commenter pointed out recently, the ranks of the senior Harry Potter cast has been thinning out at an alarming rate. If Gambon survives 2022, he'd be a strong candidate for 2023.

He definitely belongs on the list, but he's hardly top 10 material at the moment.

Would certainly be better picks than Dick Van Dyke.

What's all the buzz with Angela Lansbury? I haven't heard anything public about her present condition.

Purely meant as sarcasm. I obviously don't think a supporting child star from a 50s sitcom should have been on the deathlist. Especially when it wasn't even public knowledge that he was sick.
