Back when I was a teenager I loved Peter Yarrow and later in life I found it heartwarming to discover that he loved us teenagers just as much.

Why would anyone celebrate @Thatcher dying?

McGowan was in a wheelchair for years before he passed.

I'm just going to be honest, I think this list sucks. Way too many weak picks. Annus Horribilis part 2 commence.
-
A hit for me, but am trying to figure out why I had him so low on my list (49).

Eva Marie Saint.

It especially looks concerning when Jane Goodall attended the same ceremony to accept hers in person.

I live in the U.S. and can assure you most of us have never heard of Bernadette Chriac, sorry. Imelda Marcos is a bit more known, as her husband held power for over two decades. There is also the notoriety of her lavish lifestyle, human rights violations, and exile. I honestly don't think it's a fair comparison. If it makes you feel better, no former U.S. first ladies made the list, this year or last year.

What are you talking about? I scrolled through the shadow list thread and saw her name a few times.

I feel this pick is a bit premature. Someone to keep on the radar given his diagnosis, but dementia cases usually take years.

Mr. Key, Thank you for agreeing to host the competition again this year. I think like a lot of us, it's one of the highlights of this forum.

If we had to add a powerful, aged billionaire, I would have gone with Soros over Murdoch.

https://wgnradio.com/bob-sirott/captain-jim-lovell-on-how-apollo-8-paved-the-way-for-apollo-13/ Interview from October of this year indicates that he is still quite active.

Comped hasn't posted since December 4. You must have scared him off the forum. Good work. You did us all a great service. -
Not nearly as heavy as Kissinger.
-
Eva Marie Saint.

I'm disappointed they keep placing Robert Wagner on the list. He's famous and old, but has no known ailments or diseases, unlike Denis Law, Tom Brokaw, and Ted Turner.
-
Famous? yes Likelihood to die? Hardly. Unless they start looking like Karen Carpenter, I see no point in dedicating an entire thread to them.

Pretty risky drops.

https://www.decaturtribune.com/2024/12/27/heroic-astronaut-james-lovell-honored-in-illinois/ Was honored by the Illinois Senate this week. Between the two Apollo astronauts listed this year, Aldrin will probably go first.
