    Doctor Who

    1. It also happened with the TV movie, it doesn't mean I have to like it. 2. I understand that, I know Eastenders is released on iPlayer on the mornings of broadcast. It's more the fact that it's midnight meaning it will mean staying up late and a larger gap between broadcast. Also as a flagship BBC show I would've thought they'd try to prioritise live TV. 3. True but it still makes for a worse experience for fans 4. I have a routine and inserting Doctor Who on a morning won't fit, I could probably watch it a couple of hours before broadcast, but I doubt I could avoid spoilers that way. Also I don't want to wake up and start watching it just to avoid spoilers as it will worsen my enjoyment. 5. It's always a possibility but that would require something to go wrong, and by then it would be too late. 6. I agree some people won't be able to resist tweeting as soon as the episode is released, I'm not one of those people. I'm a massive Corrie fan and when that occasionally goes off schedule and episodes are released early on ITVX (if I watch them before broadcast) I always wait to put my thoughts out there. (it's not a major issue, it will just be a massive inconvenience for me and I don't like it)

    Doctor Who

So the new series will be released May 11th, before Eurovison, with a 2 episode premier. However the episodes will be released on iPlayer at midnight the same day (and the equivalent time on Disney+ worldwide). Press Release. I'm not a fan of this for multiple reasons, 1. If you want to avoid spoilers you will either have to avoid social media all day or watch the episodes at midnight. 2. A 2 episode premier will make the already decreased episode count feel even shorter. 3. Less people will watch live, and it could damage that traditional 'family viewing' that the show thrives on, let alone the loss of the 'event television'. 4. Global simultaneous release feels unfair for the UK as we have to stay up late whereas for example America gets it midway through the day.

Irene Skillington who had 3 roles on Coronation Street, including Connie Clayton during the 40th anniversary celebrations in 2000 (a role originally played by Susan Brown in 1985) and played 'Marilyn' on Emmerdale for 9 episodes in 1996, died on the 23rd of February.

Joan Collins ultra glamorous British actress and Hollywood star

She's just popped up on ITV News on a story about British talent at the Oscars, she's looking increasingly haggard but seems well enough. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13179389/Dame-Joan-Collins-90-glamorous-husband-Percy-Gibson-59-pre-Oscar-dinner-LA.html

    Royal Family

I'm seeing so much talk on twitter about how the picture looks AI generated, most of the kid's hands look unnatural, Charlotte's legs don't look right and her red cardigan seems to have turned invisible at the bottom of the sleeve. I'm not sure I believe it's AI but it certainly seems doctored to me.

    Deathlist Dreaming

Amongst other things, last night I dreamt I was re-sitting my A-Levels, specifically my Politics paper and one of the essays was on the role of pressure groups and charities on politics and I ended up writing about Linda Nolan raising awareness for cancer research, her attention grabbing has officially reached my subconscious.

    Journalists

If you actually read the article you brainless twit you would see that he collapsed due to a brain aneurysm, which could have many causes. It also says that it was his second in a past few weeks, which suggests a long term issue, possibly even hereditary.

Died of a short illness i.e something like cancer, trying to link the death of an innocent young person to your toxic conspiracy theories is evil, go fuck yourself you wretched little worthless stain on humanity.

    Rishi Sunak

All of the things you listed above are the opinions of our current Prime Minister, many members of parliament and most of the British press, some of the most powerful people in society, so how exactly do you get cancelled for holding any of these viewpoints?

If someone dies due to complications from a fall do they qualify for the unnatural causes bonus? Because if so Mulroney needs the bonus.

    Alexander Lukashenko

You're never gonna believe it, amidst rumours of a potential coup against him, he declares his intention to run again in 2025. Clearly his health-scare last year wasn't as serious as some thought.

Oh and there was that ironic moment where he said that MPs feel unsafe and then imminently after started attacking George Galloway.

It is certainly accurate to say that there are extreme groups who are Muslim, but what he did was target those muslim groups over anyone else. He was very vague throughout most of the speech, the only groups he mentioned by names were 'far right groups' and 'Islamists' and continued to hammer home his point on Islamists. There are extreme parts of every group but his continuous mentioning of Islamists over any other group is dangerous. Hate crimes against Muslim people are already widespread and his targeting is only going to make the problem worse.

Most likely, I'd call them 2 sides of the same coin but I at this point I don't even think the coin has a second side.

One minute he was saying how he didn't want Jewish or Muslim women and children feeling unsafe and being targeted, and then next minute he was saying how Islamist groups are a risk to the nation.

    Rishi Sunak

Yes because the ever shifting right wing politics of the Tory party has been working brilliantly, why not hire an even more authoritarian, right-wing nut job.

I think that maybe Sunak would be better calling it now following that by-election last night as it showed that Labour can still be defeated, albeit under quite unique circumstances. But now would be the best time to capitalise on it and maybe not suffer such a catastrophic defeat.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

I've seen the first 2 seasons but I gave up about half way through the 3rd as it wasn't the same. And I'm glad I did as from what I've seen, season 4 focuses on Thatcher (not a fan) and 5&6 focus on some of the younger Royals. I'm quite strongly anti-monarchy myself, but I did enjoy what I watched, probably because I love politics and history. Charles Dance is in The Crown. He plays Lord Mountbatten, who is Philip's uncle, and the resemblance is uncanny there too.
