I very much doubt she'll be left alive a year or two from now. She has far too much dirt on far too many powerful people - gonna get herself Epstein'd with the official explanation of "suicide" believed by absolutely no one.

I was thinking of ones that hadn't already been mentioned ad nauseam, not sure quite what level of famousness Frank Field is at as a young un myself but both Carters are a given for 2022's list.

In addition to Skinner, what other high profile politicians might be at death's door? Bernie is 80 and suffered a heart attack a bit over a year ago, but seems in decent health today from what I can tell. His brother Larry Sanders is 86, so perhaps more likely to go, but substantially less famous. Joe Biden could be an interesting long-shot suggestion imo, his (arguable) cognitive decline, clumsiness and general old-as-fuck-ness could be factors (not to mention if the dreaded 'rona gets to a second, even older US president...). Not a very likely hit by any means, but would probably be the most consequential and widely known death of the year if it comes to be.

Yet another major miss from this year's list - RIP.

RIP old boy, as with many statesmen of his generation his humility and respect to allies and opponents alike is sorely missing in many politicians of today. Only one of the four men on the major party tickets in 1976 left alive as of today - wonder if Carter will triumph over him again and reach 2022?

I'm going to agree with the most popular take here that Dole is the most likely to fall next. Jimmy Carter, Henry Kissinger and Raul Castro are all quite far up there as well, so this could well be a major year for high profile political deaths yet.

Since when was the burden of proof on people not buying into an unsubstantiated claim, rather than on the person making said claim?

She definitely seems thin and frail compared to how she was even a year or two ago. I wouldn't say it's definitely the beginning of the end for Liz just yet, at least as long as nothing more severe comes to light, but certainly not impossible she could be gone by the year's end - people decline very quickly when they get that old. Definitely a top 5 pick for next year if she sees this one out.

RIP lad, definitely one who'll be fondly remembered for years to come. Can't help but wonder who else old Grim's got on his hit list post-drought, this could be a fairly prolific year for him yet.

He seems like a natural choice - both old and sickly, and historically relevant enough that his passing will no doubt be big news as the last Apartheid-era leader of SA to die. End of an era and all that.

I honestly assumed he died a while ago, given the last news I saw about the guy was years ago and he seemed to be on death's door then. Admittedly don't know enough about his politics to see what kind of cultural impact his death will have, but could be interesting to see in the coming days.

Carter's a tricky one to predict, he looks very frail and has been getting more evidently worse for wear in recent years, but I wouldn't rush to say he's definitely at death's door. He could have another year or two in him if he stays in decent health, but if it comes out that he's battling a serious illness at any point I'd give him a month or two after that news drops.

This is one of the most surprising and hard-hitting potential deaths of the year so far for me - I was never a superfan or anything but I've always enjoyed blasting some of his songs during rough periods. I generally don't listen to a lot of hip hop but I do find something cathartic about it at times. I think at this state we're looking at a "dead or an invalid" situation. Even if he miraculously survives he's not going to be the same man he was prior to this by any stretch of the imagination.

I imagine him arriving back home at the palace only to be greeted by a surprise party celebrating his wellness, and drop dead from the shock.

I'm sure he'd be royally miffed if he died just a bit too early to get a card and a telegram from his missus, probably the most action the bloke's had in decades.

If I had to bet on one, I'd guess he probably won't make it to 100, but I wouldn't put much money on it. There's probably going to be some close calls involved between now and then.

A hospital specialising in cancers and cardiac issues seems an odd place for a patient who just has a vague "infection". Is this to do with his heart surgery a few years back, or perhaps might something worse be on the cards for old Phil?

The next few days are likely what is going to determine the outcome of this specific incident. If treatment continues to be a success and he doesn't develop any further health problems in hospital, he'll likely survive (for now). But at his age any form of negative reaction to treatment, worsening of the infection or even catching a bad cold could mean the end of him.

The addition of the wink seems unnecessarily ominous. Not sure if that's something to be read into or just royals failing to interact like normal humans.

The way conservatives see the term "unbiased" seems to mean treating both sides as equivalent even when they aren't, rather than stating only facts about a topic even when those facts are less than savoury. Rush has been described by DL fairly and accurately - it isn't biased or slander, he was just actually a piece of shit.

I'd be interested to hear some of this guy's "several sources". So far the only one I can dig up is from the National Institute of Things Pulled Out of People's Arses.
