  1. After dissolution, there no longer will be any MPs, so that will scupper their plans I reckon.
  2. Labour must have got wind of it. Why did they have that pledge launch?

    Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

Finally news of an Olympian someone would have heard of: 1976 Olympic swimming champion David Wilkie has died aged 70. And it's Wilkie!
  5. In 1974, Ted Heath sent a telegram to the Queen, who was in New Zealand at the time, asking for a dissolution. This was on February 7th. When it was granted, Parliament was immediately dissolved and a General Election was held on February 28th 1974. Now that's what I call a snap election!
  6. Well, you know what they say? When you've gotta go, you gotta go! (incidentally for the purposes of the GE sweepstake, if there's an immediate dissolution then the election would be on June 27).

    Crashing Companies

That will be a big blow to the various sports that Cazoo had improbably sponsored for the last few years. I had always wondered where the Hell they were getting this money from.

West Germany 1966 squad now belatedly catching up with England on the snuffing it front. Scored a memorable equalizer in the epic 1970 World Cup semi-final against Italy. RIP.

    Football Manager Sacking Bingo 3

Interesting question is who will take over Brighton? Another up-and-comer or a more tried and trusted manager?

    Football Manager Sacking Bingo 3

Thinking about it, it's maybe not that much of a surprise. He was linked with other jobs and this season hasn't been stellar.

Reminder to Andrew Neil when the time comes: you can only vote once in a General Election my lad!
  19. Latest update. 4th July is almost certainly a gonna as well but the deadline for dissolution for that hasn't passed yet. Then we're into the Autumn.

I totally missed this one! In 1973, Griffiths wrote The Party, a play about socialist intellectuals which included Lawrence Olivier in his final appearance on stage. RIP.
