I think you just ask someone to show you the way.

In the Scottish-American category, there's Edgar Allan Poe. Aye, and Captain Kidd.

I take 2 buses to get to my job, but mercifully they are short rides. However, today bofe elf n safedy were at risk on bus ride #1, because when several of us attempted to exit through the rear doors we couldn't get out. There was an enormous green trash receptical sitting right outside, blocking the way. Noice!

Can we please moderate the language on the Forum, please? My girlfriend often reads this and she doesn't like swearing. There isn't one swearword in that post you quoted. Here's a tip for your bird - if you don't like the swearing on this forum, f**k off to www.barrenmingedprudisholdfarts.com - I can highly recommend it. Of course, my post is pointless really, as we all know you haven't really got a girlfriend. I kow there isn't - because we don't swear. And will you please not use offensive language? Thirdly, Jilly is my girlfriend, NOT my bird. I do NOT go out with women who swear. I'm talking about the post you quoted, numbnuts. The post you quoted when making the original request to stop swearing HAS NO SWEARING IN IT! And what a shame you don't go out with women who swear - we could have made a lovely couple. Back the f**k off , Lardy. I want to be David's f*****g girlfriend!

Well garsh darn it Carol Ann! I mean, Golleeeeee! You're being a little bit critical here aren't ya? Nuclear, nucular, we all get blown into bits no matter how ya say it, right ? I think the network showed a re-run of the 'Andy Griffith Show' in place of the debate tonight. -

According to today's NY Daily Snooze, er, News, she buried an opponent by talking about how she named her daughter Bristol after Alaska's Bristol Bay, her family's struggle to buy a new car, her husband's grandmother's Y'uPik Eskimo grandparent etc., etc. as well as some really cheesy putdowns. You have to wonder how adept a debator the other candidate was. Still, it would be dangerous to underestimate her, considering there are many who are so anxious to find something to like about her, anything, to avoid putting a Black guy into the White House. Windsor, put on a pot of coffee. I think this might be very interesting. I'm going to make pop-corn. -

Anyone care to hazard a guess about how many times during the VP debate Sarah Palin will mention that her son has just shipped off to Iraq? I'll wager she says it no less than twice, but no more than five times. -

28 Years Of The Deathlist!
Madame Defarge replied to themaninblack's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Thing is, was there a website devoted to the list before this one? In what medium were the previous lists dating back to the 1980s published? The idea of guessing who will die next is probably as old as humanity itself. Recent findings suggest that the first Deathlist Forum may have appeared on the walls of a prehistoric cave in Croatia: TMIB, circa 35,000 BC: But why ? Why can't it be on the list? Grim Reaper, circa 35,000 BC: Because it's against the rules. TMIB: But that's not fair. There's hardly any left, anyway. Grim Reaper: I don't care how many of them are left !!*&%$??@!!. I'm not putting "Any Given Neanderthal" on the list and that's final. TMIB: Oh bugger. -

If her comments on Russia are any indication it's gonna be a massacre. I'm planning my entire week next week around the VP debate. I have a feeling that debate will be painful to watch. McCain may as well have chosen a Miss America candidate for his VP - or Paris Hilton. I was surprised to hear today that Obama was deemed to have 'won' the battle for American minds in last nights debate. McCain seemed to be ticking boxes of voting groups he wanted to capture. He obviously did much to get the hard Republican vote by his criticism of Obama's public spending plans, as well as making him seem overly liberal. He also tried to snatch the powerful Jewish lobby by claiming that, theoretically, Obama must respect the Iranian angle on Israel. At one point he mentioned the holocaust, did he not? The VP debate could turn out to be quite a spectacle: Hopefully there will be some specialised equipment on hand to deal with a recurrent medical condition shared by both candidates. -

Macca gets downright misty eyed when he talks about" the surge", and he mentioned it at every opportunity. Of course the surge in Iraq was a complete success.......that is, if you're talking about the million or so Iraqi refugees who've surged out of Iraq since the invasion. -

He mentioned Ronald Reagan twice too, which is sort of a joke. ( Maybe more than twice ,I tuned in a few minutes late. ) You could really sense the confidence in Bacca when he was speaking about the economy and the energy crisis, and of course Macca's comfort levels seemed to rise when he was holding forth about foreign policy issues. -

I agree with Windsor here, we are far too tolerant in this country of bad drivers. False indicators should be pulled out of their cars and beheaded at the side of the road, that would teach them not to do it again. Beheading? Pah! That's no use, they'd only clamber back into their Morris Minors and carry on blithely with their false-indicating shenanigans. The only way is to hang, draw and quarter them and feed their entrails to the wolves. Beheading is not supposed to to be used to punish something frivolous like false indicating! You have to save it for the worst offenses. Like driving an SUV. Or using a certain font. I have to agree with our foundling father 'Arry on this one , just draw and quarter them.

Ok So We Didnt Die But Here Is A Question To Ponder....
Madame Defarge replied to xzandra's topic in DeathList Forum
You iron? Wow. They travel faster than the speed of light from irons all over the universe and then accumulate in a pair of linen gaucho pants owned by me, that's where. This force, closely related to "string theory", can cause a pair of pants which looked beautiful on the Victoria's Secret model to turn into pieces of cloth which make me look as though I spent the night under the boardwalk. -

I agree, I said that too. Ironically, that same group of voters is going to have to choose between race and gender anyway, because as you mentioned , McCain is old and not in the best of health and Sarah Palin could be the first woman president. But if the economy continues to tank, and enough of the new voters actually vote, then I think Obama may have a slight chance. BTW if you think the campaign is brutal now, just wait. You ain't seen nothin' yet. -

Actually, according to this article 36% of the eligible population didn't vote at all, and the highest percentage of voters in 2004, over 73%, were between the ages of 65 and 74. So the Republicans may win another election, and we could easily end up with our very own little Maggie Thatcher.
