Christian J. Lambertsen A lot of inventors going recently! This guy is credited with developing a "self-contained underwater breathing apparatus" for US combat frogmen in WWII, thus coming up with the acronym "SCUBA". -
Tony Kellow Exeter City's all-time leading goalscorer has died aged 58. He is "probably most famous for his FA Cup hat trick against Gary Lineker’s first division Leicester City in 1981". He had 3 spells with the Grecians as well as playing for Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle.

Hey, hey - we need some money! Let's reform! Jones, Dolenz and Tork "back together for their first UK tour in 12 years". Michael Nesmith obviously has better things to do (and his Mum invented liquid paper, so he's not strapped for cash). Not very good copy from the Telegraph, who caption the photo as "The Monkeys" and don't appear to know which Monkee is which.

Sacked "Italian rider Riccardo Ricco was sacked by his Vacansoleil team on Saturday after a botched self blood transfusion led to him spending 12 days in hospital. The 27-year-old, who returned from a 20-month ban last March after being caught taking drugs while finishing second at the 2008 Tour de France, is also facing disciplinary proceedings from Italy's anti-doping body." Silly boy!

Had I realised that this bloke lived that close I'd have gone round and slapped him. There's nothing worse than some flight attendant returning from Gatwick at stupid o'clock in the morning dragging one of these past your window, across the joints in the paving slabs. Its even worse if they're whistling too. (admin, please feel free to transfer to Room 101). Get your entry in now! -

Good shot Spuddy!!! Not to mention Acker Bilk. All three octogenarians are on tour together at the moment. That said, the tour is 4 dates spanning a period of over 3 months, so obviously having plenty of rest between. Not quite the Rolling Stones!

He was also romantically linked with Joan Baez for a while, so how about "Baez ex expires"? You could use that for any of her former lovers (Bob Dylan, Mickey Hart, David Harris).

Continuing the donkey theme, Anapka "A DONKEY who last year shot to international fame after being forced to parasail above the beaches of southern Russia has died of a heart attack, her minders say. A veterinarian said the heart attack was likely the result of stress brought on by the experience, which sparked an international outcry from human-rights activists and a campaign by a British tabloid to rescue the beast. ... The donkey was attached to a parachute pulled by a speedboat and was in the skies as a result of an impromptu advertising campaign by several entrepreneurial Russians to promote parasailing." Let me hear you say "Oh, those Russians!"
