    Betty Wainwright, widow of the legendary Alfred, who died in 1991, has died aged 86. She was his second wife.
  3. Just a suggestion. The near misses thread tends to get a bit unwieldy after a time. Could I suggest a separate "Near Misses Forum", where people can add separate threads for each new "miss". Comments on each luminary could then be kept within the same thread. It would also make searching easier, thus hopefully preventing "multi-reporting" of deaths. Only possible problem may be guests not being able to add new threads, so we may miss out on some misses. Your thoughts please.

    Dave Freeman Co-wrote the original "100 Things to do before you die" book. He has died aged 47 "after falling and hitting his head at his home". I'm sure there are millions of witty comments which could be proffered on this one...

    Cricketer Bob Cunis, 67 Played 20 tests for New Zealand between 1964 and 1972, and later coached them. The article states John Arlott once "famously" described him as "neither one thing nor the other", although his Wikipedia entry attributes that comment to Alan Gibson and claims it was in reference to his surname, rather than his style of play.

    This article from 2004 confirms Compagnoni was certainly still alive then: "As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, Mr Compagnoni returned to Pakistan." And this one confirms the same for Lacedelli I'm sure if they'd popped their crampons since then, we would have have been made aware.
