    The Dead - 2007

Here's one for MPFC: Kath Taylor, aged 81. "She achieved fame by being crowned the women’s world gurning champion at Egremont Crab Fair twice in succession, and also entertained in pubs and clubs"

    Owen Wilson

For some reason which I can't quite fathom, the delightful Courtney Love is blaming Steve Coogan for Owen Wilson's suicide attempt. His (Coogan's) brother Martin is a local radio DJ, and has been strenuously defending him this afternoon. I suppose if I read the tabloid rags I might be able to make more sense of this story, but I can't be arsed, so I'll leave it to someone on this site to enlighten me further (that way it won't cost me owt!).

    Pressing The Self-destruct Button

Sad to report that Daniel O'Donnell has started on the downward spiral into the abyss: Daniel O'Donnell goes topless What next, I ask you?! Please, please, please can I appeal to you all NOT to open the above link if there are children or people of an impressionable nature around!

    The Dead - 2007

And another international footballer has died: Zambia's Nsofwa dies in Israel "Nsofwa was part of the Zambia squad at the 2002 African Cup of Nations in Mali and last year had helped the Chipolopolo win the Cosafa Cup, scoring one of the goals in the final 2-0 win over Angola." I'll grant you he's not a household name (except in Zambia and a small part of Israel perhaps), but I thought it was worth noting here given Puerta's unfortunate demise and last night's news of Clive Clarke's near-death experience.

Hey! Who stuck Owen Wilson on the end of my poll? He's even less of a musician than Lohan & Hilton!

    The Dead - 2007

Gaston Thorn "Former Luxembourg Prime Minister and ex-president of the European Commission" has died aged 78. "Thorn was well known on the international stage and held the post of president of the U.N. General Assembly from 1975-1976." ... I see you just pipped me by seconds, Dave. Still, I expect you've been doing your usual trick of sitting there pressing the "refresh" button continuously!

    The Dead - 2007

I'm not too sure how many members of "The Drifters", be it the "original" ones or later versions* are left (Bill Pinkney himself departed this world in July). Suffice it to say, the number is one less: Clarence "Tex" Walker has died aged 61 * Yes, before someone tells me, I know "The Shadows" were called "The Drifters" but changed their name, but I'm not thinking of them here.

    Interesting Ways To Die...

Minor "rock star" falls to death after being chased by hornets Also, underneath this article is the tale of a man who flicked a lighted cigarette at some pesky bees and burned his home down!

What would he do if he jacked it in? I'm tipping him to appear on the next "Celebrity Big Brother" or "I'm a celebrity...", although "Stricltly Come Dancing" would be even better!

As a joke, I tried to find a pic of D O'D looking down and out or even just slightly the worse for wear, but I don't think one exists!

    The Dead - 2007

Jerome "Jah Jerry" Hinds, founding member of legendary Jamaican group, the Skatalites, has died aged 80. Confusion reigns about his surname. It is variously given as Hinds / Haynes / Hynes / Hines / Haines!

    Robert Mugabe

WTF is "dementure"?! Well, it seems from this that even some "professional" institutions don't know how to spell "dementia": Dementure Care Maybe if Mr. Mugabe could see out his days in a Dorset nursing home! "Ee, Doris, there's some bloke over there reckons he used to be the president of Zimbabwe!"

    Animal Antics

Maybe her husband considered that, but as he would also have to pay for the air-fare from Australia to the US he deemed the camel to be a cheaper option. I like the bit in the aricle where it mentions the "expert" "who has offered camel rides to tourists " - I'm sure that didn't mean THIS kind of ride!

    Predict Your Own Death.....

Thrifty couple predict own deaths "A thrifty Serbian couple took advantage of a funeral parlour's closing down sale - by having tombstones engraved with the dates they think they are going to die. Dragoslav Mikic, 78, of the northern village of Dubnica, said: 'After looking at the length of time my relatives lived, and taking into account I eat well and am healthy, I am sure I will die in 2020. 'The funeral director has died since we placed the order, so it was good he got our tombstones finished beforehand.' He predicted his wife Dragica would die in 2021"

    World's Oldest

Nakano's death also means Henry has entered the top 50. It's a shame Alan "Fluff" Freeman is no longer with us. He could have done a great top 50 run-down! "Greeting, pop-your-clogs pickers!" Apparently "More than 28,000 Japanese are 100 years or older". Who's going to start a poll by typing in all 28,000+ names?

So good of the Grauniad to confirm Ed's death, which happened way back at the end of May, and was reported by DDT on June 5th: http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?...ost&p=98769 I'm sure the local coroner will be pleased that he can close the inquest now!
