Former British cruiserweight boxing champion Tee Jay has died of a heart attack at the tender age of 42 (or 44 according to other links)

Steve "The Miz" Mizerak Legendary pool player dies aged 61. I think his fame qualifies him for this thread. Didn't he feature in those ill-fated programmes with Steve "Interesting" Davis & co. where they pitted snooker players and pool players against each other playing both sports (and possibly billiards too - hell, I can't remember!). Please correct me if I'm mistaken. Also appeared in "The Color [sic] of Money"

So? Nobody lives forever and maybe this will teach children the idiocy of skydiving. Yeah, kids, we know it's tempting but remember - if some stranger comes up to you in the street and asks you if you would like jump out of a plane at 12,500 feet JUST SAY NO!!!

Alan Sapper Former union leader who instigated the strike which saw ITV go off the air for a time in 1979. "he was one of the few union leaders to get the better of Mrs Thatcher" ... she'll be having a sly grin to herself now then!

"Naked Guy" dead at 33 ... worth a mention here, methinks.

For once, I find myself sympathising with Iain! Freddie Garrity relegated to the "Not Exactly Famous" thread?! He had 4 UK top 5 hits in the 60s, and anyone who was around then would surely class him as pretty famous. "I'm telling you now" went to No.1 in the US.

As detailed here. For a marvellous pic of Jim Tolmie in all his splendour see here. He must have one of the top-10 mullets of all time!

Johnnie Wilder Jr Lead singer of "Heatwave" (remember "Always and Forever", "Boogie Nights" (woh-oh-oh!)?). Dead at 56.

Ken Jones - 'a Welsh sporting legend' "wrote his name in Welsh rugby folklore for his winning try against the 1953 All Blacks, was also his country's sprint champion for seven years and represented Great Britain at the 1948 Olympic Games in London"

I remember him well! I found the above pic on this fascinating site of football cards: http://cards.littleoak.com.au/ which I'm sure others will find interesting - look out for a great pic of a young pre-jowl Harry Redknapp!

I hadn't realised she was still alive! She won't be able to take that long walk out of the cemetery now! I am amazed and intrigued by the following quote from her IMDB bio: "Her husband composed "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth"" Can this be confirmed?!!! (So far all I am getting is that this was composed by "Don Gardner", not the said "Oscar De Mejo". Possibly the latter (who was a "jazz musician") composed the tune?) Apparently, she was involved in a scandal which damaged her career. All interesting stuff!

Don't get too down-hearted, folks: Next?
