So there it is. At the moment Mono is in the lead. Saturday at midnight GMT all right as a deadline?

Should we create a poll, perhaps with a deadline? Or should we just let Yvonne decide?

    Is The Deathlist Dying?

I found one of those in the plughole of the bath recently.

    The Canadian Paul Deadpool

What a load of nonsense. Godot should know better than to make such ridiculous remarks. Another subject I'd love to go into more detail about if only I weren't so damned tired. Not to mention drunk. Still, it seems you're in good company.

In that case you are sorry. It was Jon Pertwee who played the Doctor. Bill was his cousin.

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

I would have to go with 'The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse' by Robert Rankin. Makes me laugh every time I read it. An excellent book by all accounts. For those unfamiliar with the works of The Master or with Far Fetched Fiction as a genre in general, Snuff Fiction is probably a good starting point. I think I'll reread it right now. Keep me from posting too much on the Deathlist.

    Is The Deathlist Dying?

Sad news indeed. I have much to say on this topic but it must wait. In the meantime a reminder of Godot's last, less final departure. Fare you well Godot. I met you once, you were a lovely chap.

That depends on which admin it was who wrote it. It could just be a reference to this:

You couldn't possibly bring it. I have it here. Or do you mean the one Anubis left on the bus?

A job lot of "made in Derry" Orange order joke Pope dicks left over from the troubles? LOL. No, it's not a guessing game! Could it be a ******* ? I saw one of those recently.

    John Tyndall & Nick Griffin

The Nazis referred to disabled people as "human ballast" and sterilised them or sent them to prototype death camps. In grey buses. (BTW Mono, make some room in your inbox!)

A Childhood Trauma Schnicketty Schnacketty, Banshees (the screaming one)'s nanny said, "Joseph don't play with that knife!" Joe, disobedient, incontrovertibly lessened his chances of getting a wife.

Irate Visitors Rage Here, If You Must.

It's "newspaper" that should be in inverted commas, not "The Sun". I mean even without the use of capital letters, the context alone should be enough for most people to know you mean Mr. Murdoch's crappy populistic publication and not that big scary ball of fire up in the sky.

Mind it depends on what timescale, time being relative or summat. Early work on transmitting visual images began in the late 19th century perhaps before JLB was born. To me and my 30ish years that's a long time, I wouldn't call it a recent invention. However as you say the printed word, Gutenberg or Chinese, had been around far longer, though on the scale of the formation of the Earth, evolution of Man etc perhaps it is a recent invention. Perhaps the Higgs Boson will come to sort it out. By the way, not wanting to kill your avatar or anything but what is your home-based entertainment method of choice? Sharing might give LFN something to go on ;-) Particularly if it turns out to be a toilet.

    Dead Drummers

As mentioned on the Names Forum, former band colleague of Humphrey Lyttelton, Ludovic Kennedy has drummed his last.

Had to look that up, not having the faintest clue what you were on about. How sad to see that Kestrel Lager is no more. Yes I think it's him too, doubtless lured back by yet another poetry competition.

I wonder if it would be comical if any of the above were accidentally to find its way into the public fora?

Exhibit A '...colder than one can bear.' Exhibit B '...your forever.' He has also had several months to work on this 'comeback' post. 2009 has been a year for comebacks, Michael Jackson, Boyzone, Banshees. What's wrong with "colder than one can bear"? Apart from being clumsy, affected and generally hideous I mean. And anyway, BS always wrote "then" when he meant "than".

A superficial stylistic analysis leaves me asking, "where are all the malapropisms? It can't be Dr. Scream." But my Moderator's Magical Looking Device tells me that it is someone who uses the same internet provider as he, which narrows it down to him and a few hundred thousand or so others. My theory is it's the No Child Left Behind program kicking in.

I always thought that song was by Morris Minor and the Majors. Which only goes to show how much I learned in 7 years at various music colleges.

From the way that they presented that, you'd think that he was already dead. I bet that's not even his real voice.
