The government has just replied to an online petition I signed a while back, against a state funeral for her Thatchiness on account of her support for Pinocet and her general inhumanity to her fellow beings. Probably not a sign of her impending demise since they usually reply after a set time, but for the record here's what they said: Which is more or less saying "we'll do as we please, so bugger you you ignorant bunch of leftie scum"

You-know you are going to have to throttle back a whole lot soon or say good-bye to your liver sometime in the next 10 years! Surely if you drink lots of vodka and then throw up, much of the vodka doesn't get to your liver. So I think you should revise that to 15 years.

According to the enormous headline on today's Bild "Newspaper", he has a broken skull. It's interesting to see that Ferrari seems to be replacing him with some chap who holds the record for the most F1 starts without ever scoring a point and is probably going to destroy their expensive vehicle in a spectacular crash shortly after the start. Perhaps they are trying to gain some sympathy by fielding an underdog. I'll be rooting for him. -

Chimmy Chungas. That was a grand place. Used to live in Oakfield Avenue, just round the corner. Went by there a few weeks ago and was a bit disappointed to see it had vanished. I seem to remember they'd kept much of the original deco of the shop or bank or whatever that it used to be. I daresay that's all gone too now. -
Yes. I'll let them introduce themselves, but the name comes from them being fed up about BC Alum (in particluar) & Chicago wotsit & all his so-called "significant" deaths.... It's not me, but I really wish it was. My guess is harrymacnally or Monoclinic. My money would be on one of those two intellectuals too, if I had any.

That's nice.

What she said. Some very sensible remarks. Ten out of ten.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries, etc... for 2009

Happy birthday Custard! -
Can I put in a request for not the first weekend in November? I've always managed it but it's damned inconvenient. The weekend after would be better. The 7th of November. The usual place is appropriately themed, conveniently situated but jolly expensive. Didn't somebody say they knew somewhere else nearby which was slightly easier on the pocket? Or we have it in Twickenham so we can take a group photograph in front of Brinsworth House.

I wonder if his signature is for real.

Happy Birthday Windsor. Don't get drunk now. -
Bob Loblah the poet. Sorry Bob, but that's dreadful. It is sh*te. Reminds me of Art Garfunkel or Leonard Nimoy. Or what was that Australian guy's name? Ron something.

Bugger, I forgot to award points for Robert McNamara. His death consolidates highly suspect mystery team Why Not's lead. Somewhat. I'll do it later. Need to look into the crimes against humanity aspect with this one. Does anyone believe Harry Patch didn't commit Morris Dancing, him being from the West Country and all that?
-
A few more points and a Quantum Leap into 7th place due to Harry Patch's untimely demise will doubtless be cheering you up no end Mary.

Congratulations Windsor! What do you plan to do next? -
Bob Loblah? Is that Timmy's brother?

Not a family member or even a close friend but a valued colleague and a really lovely guy who didn't deserve the years of suffering from more kinds of cancer than I knew there were. Frank.

Oh aye. Strangely enough I gave CP the points for Henry but forgot you. Sorry about that.

In a rare bout of activity I've updated the site for all the recent deaths I could remember. If anybody can be bothered checking to see if I've missed anything, please do. I just assumed Mollie Sugden had been on Celebrity squares, in the light of no compelling evidence to the contrary.

It was a Fomula 2 race he died during. The rules for having a safety line on the wheels or not are probably different between the two series. Sadly.

I shouldn't worry abut that. The Stasi can get to Falkirk. -

Funny that. I was just this minute dwelling on what a horrible evil old bag my teacher in Primary 6/7 was, and then someone resurrects trhis old thread. And this morning I was thinking about Nikolai Tesla for no particular reason, only to discover on tuning into Google that today is his birthday. Two coincidences in one day. Three in fact, since the first two coincidences also coincided.
