It's Good Friday and I haven't partaken in any sweets. Only a day and a half to go. To be completely honest, I don't love sweets so it hasn't been too difficult. Well come on now, surely the point is to give up something that tempts you? In that case, I declare that I gave up mushrooms and felching for Lent, and have been jolly successful. Well in that case, I gave up toadstools and fletching. It's not that hard if you try not to think about it.

It says he's going to play God in an upcoming theatre production in Stuttgart. That other page the link to which got deleted seems to say he's not happy with the outcome of a court case against a publicist who claimed he performed in the Dachau Concentration Camp (presumably for the warders) in 1941. I'm not sure though because my Dutch isn't too good. I can say "what a nice day" and "I speak only a little Flemish". Both of which go down very well in Holland.

Oh look! A rant. And an accusation that I read tabloid "newspapers". Which I don't. So it's wrong.

Seek, and ye shall find, old friend Oh yes. I'd forgotten about him.

Or nights for that matter.

Good Friday Status Report anyone? I certainly haven't seen much of Mr. Godot round here the last 40-odd days.

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Tuber Mirum replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just finished this excellent piece of literature, having downloaded it for the unbeatable bargain price of 1 pound 88 or thereabouts. I wonder if the improbably-named author gets all of that? Easily on a par with 'Influx' by J. C. Jones, or indeed 'From Anger to Apathy' by Mark Garnett, it is one of those rare books in which the blurb on the cover actually bears some resemblance to the events portrayed inside, so in that respect the reader cannot fail not to be disappointed. Or indeed in any other respect. Assuming gratuitous violence (always entirely justified) and strangely familiar sounding anecdotes and one-liners are the sort of thing you like. A thing which it would be perfectly safe to assume for most Deathlist members. Or anyone else for that matter. The author will not thank me for pointing out the 2 or 3 typos I noticed. -
Enough said! Although I would have said ASDA! Or WalMart, although it is the same thing. Shop of the Devil.

Apparently Allah is the same guy. He's a master of disguise. Nobody knows what he really looks like. Sort of like Keyser Söze.

Is that meant for me because I modified your signature?

Aaah! The chair of speculative etymology at Deathlist University has finally found a new occupant. I still miss Professor Pestilence, I wonder what he's up to now. Or was it Horseman? I forget. Bastertman
-
Well if I find out it's a second team from you, you're getting both your teams disqualified. That wouldn't be allowed.

Just gave the site a bite of a makeover. I think it looks a bit better now. If anyone has trouble viewing it properly because they're running f*****g Google Platinum on a Commodore 64, they can bugger off.

I like the bit about ridiculing and ostracising very much, but it probably wouldn't work. Getting people to fork out money in advance is lots of effort for next to no effect. I'm sure we could find some other arbitrary reason to ridicule people at the next DL Con though. Perhaps for being drunk.

Oh yes. I'll fix that tomorrow, probably.

Odd indeed. It is worth remarking that another team, that of Grobler, would have had three hits already if they hadn't all died before the start of the competition. One to watch out for definitely. If anyone has any big problems reading the site, they should say so. I haven't tested it in all browsers yet.

Sounds great. Perhaps I'll move there myself one day. Never heard of river city though.

I thought inscrutableness was a cultural characteristic, not a racial stereotype. Still I daresay the PC fascists don't differentiate. In the meantime I was just doing the scoreboard for the HDP (it should be online tomorrow) and see that Wendy Richard was in a pantomime and on Celebrity squares, so that makes for some nice bonuses for those who had her. I also learned that she was born in Teesside, just a stone's throw from Hartlepool. which is nice but doesn't earn any bonuses.

She's clearly an idiot. Coventry's where happening. it's Why doesn't he go the whole hog and move to Fraserburgh?

Deathlist Dreaming
Tuber Mirum replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
A few weeks ago I dreamt that Frank Muir was dead. -
As with so many things, if you have money you are o.k. This is true with regard to whether you get the death penalty or quality health care. The W.H.O. rankings make interesting reading. This is quite old so perhaps things have changed for the better. Let's hope so for anyone unable to afford, or get health insurance. I can't say I've ever had cause to complain about the quality of care here in Germany, although we do all have to pay a fair chunk of our salary towards it every month. They say the doctors here are some of the worst paid though.
