A sad one indeed. I was an avid reader of Punch in the 70's and 80's. Those were the grand old days before Harry Enfield. When comedy was still funny. Now we have no more Coren, no more Rushton, no more Cook and no more Hoffnung. All that is left is Clement Freud. Or is he dead too? -Just off to re-read The Sanity Inspector.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2007

I reckon Art Garfunkel couldn't have done better. Leonard Nimoy perhaps, but not Art Garfunkel. -
The Remakable Banshees Scream

So BS says he makes a complete twunt of himself only when he thinks we have done something to deserve it. As this is clearly all of the time, perhaps we should take a long hard look at ourselves. -
Admittedly many of the bit parts were given to third-rate would be Shakesperian luvvies, that's one of the cheapnesses that make it so bad it's good, but the likes of Darrow and Thomas were real, good actors with the sort of stage voice you don't hear on telly any more. Sort of almost like Michelle Dotrice in Some Mothers but without actually shouting their heads off like she did.

Thing about you Windsor is that you don't like Banshees Scream. It's so obvious. I bet you never visit his page. -

I got 84%. That's a B. -
Well it seems that after Irmgard von Stephanie's death, Elsa Tauser became the oldest woman in Germany, holding the title for exactly one day and one night, before dropping dead herself. The interesting thing about Frau Tauser is that she was born near the Harbour in Hamburg and had personal experience of the Emperor (Kaiser Bill presumably). On his horse.

You can't get deathlist net in German railway stations either. Inappropriate content or some such guff.

I knew I had this somewhere, scanned out of her biography which I read a while back. Posted it in the Thatcher Thread about 2 years ago. I expect many of them are on there unless they were in disgrace at the time.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries ,etc ...for 2007

Happy Birthday Magic. Have a nice evening. -
I know a member of Patrick Jenkin's family, and have met him occasionally although not in the last 5 years or so. Last time I asked (admittedly about a year ago) he was still pretty active doing this and that. If I remember rightly he'd just moved into town so as not to have to travel so much, but that was about it

To answer your questions in reverse order: no, but no. If you had been there, you would have understood.

Took part in a pub quiz this evening using "Deathlist Convention" as a team name. (We came 3rd after deliberately losing a tiebreak to some ladies) The landlady who ran the quiz was heard to remark "That's an awful name". Can the committee come up with something else more likely to appeal to half-pished Irish pub landladies? Might be important on the night.

I think I'll come as Jeremy Thorpe, since that's who it was brought me here in the first place. I'm not sure if Thorpe has a habit of rubbing his hands together in gleeful anticipation when he walks into a pub, but that's likely to be the way those of you who don't know me already will recognise me. It's one of those things I just can't help.

Well at least that's one less SUV in the world. -
What an appalling degree of illiteracy these Californian newspapers have!

He looks pretty good, especially for someone who has cancer and has decided against conventional treatment. It would be nice to see him well, I'm actually beginning to quite enjoy this fellow. We're always making that mistake here on DL. It's not cancer that makes you look terrible, it's the conventional treatment. Look at the Tomlinson woman, she looked fine until the moment she dropped down dead.

I shall be there, though I may have to leave early. I'll be sorry not to meet HCW.

If he'd been bitten by a black widow spider he could have been killed too, Dave.

That is a clip of Drew Barrymore flashing at David Letterman. What exactly are you trying to say Banshees Scream?

Has he been reading Wikipedia? I wasn't aware that he could read. (Brilliant site that, by the way Whitehouse. Thankyou!)

I was just harmlessly pursuing one of my interests just now when I came across this little snippet which may serve to both enlighten the uninitiated and amuse those of a certain age.

I was treated there briefly this summer. It was quite nice really as hospitals go.

Well you know iain, Castro may die soon or he might not. No amount of vacuous and illiterate speculation is likely to increase our knowledge much on the subject.
