Many years ago I heard on the radio that the "secret sauce" had been chemically analysed, and it turned out to be Thousand Island dressing. Not sure if it's true, but I reckon so. Also I believe it used to be the case that their "shakes" were called "shakes" and not "milkshakes" as there were, in fact, no milk ingredients in them at all, but rather potato powder stuff. Stopped drinking them after that, although that was many years ago and I would guess McDicks have pulled their socks up somewhat in terms of their ingredients. But who knows... I heard it was chicken fat they use to make the shakes. Not sure if McDonalds do that because here at least they call the vile things "Milkshakes", but at Burger King it's just "Shakes" May or may not be true...

Oh do be quiet Brimley! Just spent an enjoyable evening watching All Night Long. A Jazz film from 1961 in which McGoohan plays a drummer who is a bit of a dodgy character. Looking at some of the drumming scenes, though I doubt it's him you can hear, I'd say McGoohan's handling of the old shooting range looks pretty damned convincing to say the least. It's been a while since the "dead drummers" thread has seen any service, perhaps in the light of this new information we can expect an early result. In addition to that, during the course of the picture, at one point he says "be seeing you!" which I found quite amusing really since in a way, it later became his catchphrase.

He was up at Buck Pal twice this week. I wonder if anyone else of note was at that over-sixties entertainers' knees up? Another thing I wonder is if the glamorous third Mrs. Forsyth was ever in any way acquainted with the late Mr. George Best of Belfast?

This newspaper crit from the Press and Journal seems quite positive about it. On the other hand, if the music critics from the P&J are anything like they were in my Aberdeen days, the writer possibly wasn't actually at the gig.

Yawn! Communism has been dead for years so tell me why the world is in such a mess? They are shooting the hell out of each other in Iraq with barely a communist in sight. The Nazis in Germany and the Taleban in Afghanistan were both put there with much assistance from the USA whose sole interest was keeping/getting the Communists out. Didn't save too many lives now, did it? What about the Ancient Greeks, the Romans, God, the Vikings, the British and Spanish colonialists, Ghenghis Khan, Napoleon, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Kissinger, G. W. Bush etc.. Plenty of gratuitous mass killing of enemies there, and little or no communism. We are all of us one as bad as the other.
