With the utmost respect Simon, I do wish you would be quiet.

The only bit of that I understand is which means "son of a hoor"

His demise would be untimely for the Deathlist, as he was left off it this year. 2005 seems to be turning into a year of very near misses what with Arthur Miller and Prince Rainier and now perhaps Uncle Ian.

I hope you realise a lot of people who fought in WWII were Nazis.
-
Oh well, it must be true then.

It's understandable though, why it's illegal in many of the more enlightened countries of the world to bet on a death; it does tend to encourage people to go around bumping each other off.

I'll get you my pretty. And your little dog, too.

I see the monkey got re-elected as Mayor of Hartlepool. Sounds like he is the ideal politician.

I know where you live.

I would prefer to read the word "historic" a few less times today than I have done already. As regards Mr Josco, we can confidently assume he is still counting votes as his constituency is traditionally the last one to declare. Interesting to see that the sitting MP (who will undoubtedly get in again) studied international politics with Henry Kissinger. Seems otherwise quite sensible, though.

It is at times like this that I feel I could even admit to some common ground with Mr Josco. I never imagined I would ever cheeer a Conservative gain. as The Wicked Witch once so properly said: "What a world, what a world!"

There is no point answering to DLO. He can't hear you as he is dead.

Reasonable pair of norks though Norks? Next thing you know we will be having outbreaks of "futtock-nadgering" And she isn't that ugly anyway.

I see Mister Bush is doing his bit to frighten folks into supporting his buddy Tony. Pathetic. Pa- thetic.

1877? Remind me, is that before or after the creation? -
not famous enough. Not famous enough? Haven't you read any of his books?

Had to thump the table a few times at that one. I daresay Mr Josco will too -
I too, am sceptical. It would only take some Banshee-esque spelling to make the first post in this thread read like a Nigerian Email scam. But since we have no evidence one way or the other, and are unlikely to get any, I'll just say goodbye to DLO and express my condolences if appropriate to his family. We are unlikely to hear from him again in any case.

My political party of preference, the LibDems have for the second time in as many days wheeled out a Geriatric Secret Weapon. Veteran Flow Consultant Ms Rayner who is expressing her disillusionment with Labour's health policies. Perhaps when they get back in, she will resign herself to becoming a 2005 DeathList statistic. For all those not intending to vote Conservative, be warned, alternative historian Anthony Wells has come up with a plausible horror scenario for what might have happened if an England World Cup quarter final victory against Germany in 1970 had addled peoples brains into giving Harold Wilson another chance. The best bit for me(apart from Home Secretary Mrs. T. rejecting over 1000 appeals for clemency from people under the death sentence) is when Field Marshall the Lord Bramall (potential DL candidate?) gets locked up for a long time. A thing which ought to have been done to him and more importantly also to his extended family a long time ago. In my opinion. On a more serious note, I see they have wheeled out veteran Liberal and former Deathlist Candidate Jeremy Thorpe to give Tony and Mr Howard a good tongue-lashing about their dubious excuses for supporting Mr Bush's war. He is 76 and has Parkinson's. I wonder how much longer he will last.

You obviously suffered from some kind of head injury as a child. The 1.3L Coupe was my first car, and therefore, was the best car on the road at the time. And there I was, thinking you were a reasonable intelligent chap judging by your previous post. Sorry! Slip of the tongue so to speak. I have corrected my post accordingly.

Perhaps if Proportional Representation were introduced, and people started realising their votes counted for something, then other changes might occur, resulting in a new breed of voter which demanded competence and sensibleness from their politicians. More likely though would be the rise of a number of smaller parties which in a coalition would hold the balance of power, thus possibly tempering the dogmatic idiocies of one of the larger parties which tend to put ideology before people. Or perhaps in the other direction, although here in Germany, it is not yet done to enter a coalition with extremists. The worst thing is a government which gets a huge majority and then believes it has carte blanche to do any number of awful things which nobody wants. Far worse than a hung parliament. Another worst thing is simple-minded and blinkered people who habitually vote the same way every time clearly oblivious to the fact that the parties and the issues are changing constantly. To say Conservative or Labour is good because C. or L. has always been good is utter nonsense. Both are responsible for most of the miseries of the past 100 years or so, and without the one, the evil-doings of the other would have been worse, probably. Sadly at present, I doubt whether either is what Britain needs. Sometimes it is necessary to vote differently remove a government which is incompetent (like the Labour one until 1979) or wicked (like the one which followed it and the present one). Of course nobody could have guessed quite what a nasty, vicious, inhumane, bloodsucking bunch of meanies Thatcher, Tebbit et al were going to be, (and anyone who thinks differently is a silly sausage, and there still seem to be a few folks around who can't accept that they did a lot of unnecessary and bloody-minded harm in clearing up the mess left by their predecessors and a more moderate middle way might have given manufacturing industry a chance of survival in the UK. Although on the other hand, the death of the Austin Allegro was probably a good thing on the whole.) Nevertheless, in 1979 voting Conservative must have seemed like a sensible choice. I wonder how many of us have ever looked beyond our political prejudices and seriously considered changing our voting habits? I have never voted in a General Election and don't intend to this time, but I am hoping the election result will be fair and results in a strong, competent, morally conscientious government for the UK. I can't imagine how that could possibly come about though given the current bunch of candidates. A benign dictatorship would be nice, and works well here on the Deathlist, but I would hesitate before supporting Mr. Josco for the head of one. My vote goes to myself, or possibly to Hein, though I believe he may be a foreigner of some sort.

Well spotted Mr. Josco! Post corrected. That was a classic case of alcohol-inspired neologism.
