Damn..I wanted to post that news.I had so many puns ready! Did he meet a sticky end?

Gough Off? Put him in his Gough-in?
-
I had Michael Gough on my "shortlist" for the DDP, then foolishly omitted him. Hopefully, by way of a tribute, they'll show "Horror Hospital" on TV - a fine film in which MG cracks his knuckles is a very menacing fashion...

I thought he was one of the obscure Pommies I didn't know untl you mentioed that and it clicked with me that it is the bloke who played Onslow! Poor old Onslow is dying!!! He is one of my role models... He was a lazy vest wearing tinny drinking bastard of the 1st magnitude - top quality bloke. That's why we Aussies can relate to him. But he was really good at cricket in that show. Might only be a matter of time until he is just ashes...

Sorry for your loss Johanna - you have my sympathies.

Deserves a posthumous knighthood for keeping previously thought missing episodes of Hancock's Half Hour and some audio recordings of Not Only But Also...and goodness what else. Fascinating documentary. I saw that too - a great programme (as was the documentary that followed about the history of TV light entertainment which featured numerous deceased but much missed entertainers, and Jeremy Beadle), and I too noticed how sprightly Mr Norden is looking. Maybe picking him for the DDP was a mistake, as he doesn't look like he'll be reunited with Fwank Muir any time soon.

Well done OoO, a good result for you! And I was quite happy - for my first year in the DDP I made the Top 25....percent. Joint 116th is not to be sniffed at...

Her husband might not though - if he keeps mixing up superglue with eye-drops.. Brilliant! All this a few months after swallowing a bee while sunbathing. You couldn't make it up...

The most significant (albeit non-famous) death in 2010 for me was my Dad, on 1 September. It made me reflect on the fact that every time we (or the Deathlist) score a hit there will be a family somewhere mourning their deceased loved one, just as I was. Then two days later Cyril Smith died, giving me some much needed points on the DDP, which cheered me up no end. Not sure if that's good or bad really...

I too have now submitted my teams for both the DDP and Wormfood Bingo and will update my signature in the next few days (just so nobody copies my "wonderful" selection...ahem...) I'll be trying to persuade some of our houseguests at our annual Hogmanay Binge tonight to have a punt at this, so MIB, you may receive some more entries in the wee small hours...

I've only just seen this. That is a shock - my son (aged 5 1/2) has been perfecting the Boney M "Mary's Boy Child" dance this Christmas (and performing it for everyone's amusement at any given opportunity)...he'll be sad when I tell him in the morning...

I'd leave him there if he tried to summon help in the accent he used in Mary Poppins. I think his tale of being rescued by porpoises may have been the start of the marbles disappearing...
