Hi RM, good to hear you are interested. The inaugral season is about to kick-off (already committed so can't back track) so if you would care to hang on for about 5 weeks, you can come in on season 2 - I will drop you an invite nearer the time. Cheers DWB I'm interested also. Let me know when season 2 is about to begin. ff -

Levi Stubbs is a good selection in my view and should have received a higher spot on the list. Definitely famous enough for a U.K. obit - Lead singer of the Four Tops (1954 - 2000) well known internationally Definitely sick enough - diabetes (since 1995), heart attack and stroke that left him wheelchair bound (2000), prostate cancer (since 2002)

Selecting Pausch as your joker is a gamble, but the payoff in points would be huge if he does get the required U.K. obit Edit: It looks like BS selected him as well, so no unique pick

Castro again hints at retirement Cuba's ailing President, Fidel Castro, has for the second time this month alluded publicly to the possibility of retiring from office. In a letter read out to Cuba's National Assembly, he said in the past he had been a person who "clung" to power, but that life had changed his perspective. Mr Castro also urged people to support his brother, acting leader Raul Castro.

Patriots complete perfect regular season I was hoping that the Pats would lose yesterday, but they came back from being down 28-16 at the beginning of the 4th quarter to beat the NY Giants 38-35 -
dead Bugger, I was thinking of including him on my 2008 HDP list.

Castro 'well enough for election' The health of Cuban President Fidel Castro is good enough for him to be a candidate in next month's parliamentary elections, his brother Raul has said. Raul Castro said Fidel was exercising two hours daily and putting on weight. ... Communist leaders back Fidel Castro's decision to run for parliament, a prerequisite to remaining president, his younger brother said.

I have not seen any report of this on any of the main news sources. I did see a mention of it here, but in the same story Bob Seger denies having cancer.

Please correct me if I am wrong - but wasn't the Independent Newspaper a pre-requisite for the ordinary team? If so - http://news.independent.co.uk/people/obitu...icle3223657.ece Sorry, off the top of my head, I can't remember the obit rules for ordinary as compared to theme. I don't think the Independent would count as an obit for the ordinary team. From what I remember, the ordinary team obit rules were BBC, CNN or any online Canadian news source.

He is on my 2007 DDP and CPDP lists and a possible candidate for my 2008 DDP list as well. The latest I heard was that he had an operation to remove cancerous growth from his lungs about 6 months ago. I have not seen anymore news about him since then.

She has an obit in The Guardian, which would have satisfied the DDP obituary requirement, if she had been selected.
