    Meat Loaf

Found an interesting article on Meatloaf, where he describes how he got that nickname. His real name is Marvin Lee Aday. Meat Loaf credits career success to diversity As a toddler, Meat Loaf, who has performed in a wardrobe as varied as a white pirate shirt or in an all-black ensemble topped with a red-and-white varsity coat, was nicknamed Meat, by his father. He believes "Loaf" was added as "an eighth-grader when I stepped on my football coach's foot and he said 'get off my foot you hunk of 'meat loaf' and it stuck. Even teachers called me Meat."

    Betty Ford

Although Betty Ford is 86, there does not seem to be any report of her having a health related problem that would lead to her early demise. The latest news on her is that she has stepped down from her position at the Betty Ford Clinic and handed over the leadership position to her daughter. Betty Ford Center leadership changes hands

    Meat Loaf

Meatloaf? I have not heard any recent news reports about him. The last report I was able to find was from Nov 25th, 2003 when he collapsed on stage during a gig at London's Wembley arena and later on had heart surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat.

    Near Misses for 2005

Sir Anthony Meyer, the backbencher that challenged Margaret Thatcher for leadership of the Tory party in 1989 has died from cancer. He was 84. His leadership challenge paved the way for John Major’s eventual nomination and ultimately led to the resignation of then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. Sir Anthony Meyer dies

I came across a couple interesting articles on Mike Tyson. The speculation is that he is considering retirement from boxing. ff Mike Tyson Talks of Retiring Mike Tyson Return Looking Unlikely

    The Dead Pool

The answer is no and a majority of death pools have rules specifically forbidding members from harming anyone on his or her list. I have included part of a post from DWB dated Dec 8th, 2004 addressing that very subject. If you read the unwritten rules of the DL you will see that a DL candidate cannot be 'bumped off' in order to score a hit on the list.

    Larry Hagman

I have to agree with you on that one, Guest Yank. Q. What do you call the combination of a drunkard and a diseased liver? A. A death cocktail.

    Rosemary Kennedy

It's really sad that Rosemary has passed on. She is now the latest addition to a long list of dead Kennedy's. Some people actually believe that there is a curse on the Kennedy family. Rosemary Kennedy dies at 86

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Edgar Ray Killen is already 80 years old, and it will probably take a year or two for his trial process to be completed. Now if he is convicted and given the death penalty, it will probably be another 10 years before he would have exhausted all of his appeals. So if he were to be executed, it would be at the ripe old age of 92, if he does not die in prison before then.

    Nelson Mandela

His only surviving son has just died in hospital after being in critical condition for several weeks. It's going to be interesting how much longer he will continue keep going after this tragedy. Nelson Mandela's eldest son dies

    Carlo Azeglio Ciampi

Interesting article, R.K. and I agree with your assessment. He will never be able to put a dent in the mafia. It is too entrenched in Italian society and has been there for many generations before he even walked the earth. He could have a new concrete wardrobe if he makes a serious attempt to eradicate them.

Very informative article. It will just make deathlist.net's job that much harder if the average lifespan is 1000 years

    Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson is nothing but a failed and overrated boxer. Whenever he was matched against a decent fighter, who could last 10 rounds, he always lost the fight. He seems to be in good physical health, but his mental health is another question. At 38, he does not appear to me as someone who is about to die anytime soon.
