No grobler you cant be a true fan if you give up on him now he has been through a lot and now his dad has just died and hopefully he will be on stage 10th 17th December and no i wont be moving on to someone else he is a great singer and a true gent i have met him I don't think anyone can seriously dispute the fact that he is a very good singer. The main point of interest regarding JL is whether or not he will die between 01/01/ & 31/12/2007. My guess would be that he, or his publicity people, are engaging in a little Liza/Liz style talking up of their diva's ilnesses in order to increase ticket sales. Would anyone outside of his cult following have heard of Joe Longthorne anytime in the last 15 years if it weren't for his constant deathscares? This guy's had more comebacks than a boomerang!!!!

Ertegun recovering. No he ain't 18 days... He's in a deep coma, unless they switch him off I'm backing him to get to 2007

Oh about a tenth of what Castro's managed, or at least that Castro's murdered that we know about. I don't know why people get so worked up about Pinochet - it was only Communists he killed after all. Exactly! Communists deserve no sympathy. They are a cancer on humanity. It was utterly despicable how he was hounded by leftists during the last few years of his life. So effectively what you're saying is that political murders are totally acceptable, providing it's the "good guys" doing the killing?

Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters

Ex Great Britain Rugby League International Gary Schofield used to come into my business to buy gear oil for his 4x4. He now lives next door to one of my van drivers randomly..... Also one night late Christmas shopping I turned into an arcade off Briggate in Leeds and walked smack into Fabrizio Ravanelli, tell you what, he had a right pair of stunners with him, I didn't make a fuss, just gave him a knowing wink.... -
Now, you are serious, aren't you?! The poem gave it away: you really are completely out of your mind. No matter how you feel about communists and anti-communists, no sane person would refer to Pinochet's concentration camps, his regime of oppression, torture, murder and fear as a 'joy' that 'passes'... The only Pinochetty things the 'tides' have left behind are the skulls of his political opponents, the only Pinochetty thing that still 'lingers' on the land is the smell of Chacabuco. Dimwitted moron. Now now Miss Croft, that's giving Dimwitted Morons a bad name, even they wouldn't admit to ownership of this guy ......

They were good friends long before she became a commie lover. Around 1984 though, she must have developed mental illness because her behavior after that date has been like a lunatic. One partner in this friendship allegedly executed commies the other kisses their arses and hands over British territory to them. Despicable! That must be it, the leader of the UK descended into madness sometime around 1984 and we're lucky we didn't stumble headlong into a nuclear armageddon, imagine that, a nutter with their hand on the nuclear button, I'm glad times have changed....erm....oh...erm sheet..........run.......................

And a good friend of Margaret Thatcher who is apparently a commie lover, odd he'd be mates with a commie lover but there you go.

Of all the reasons to hate Thatcher and wish her demise, this wouldn't come at the top of most peole's lists I think... Lol how is it rightfully Britains? Were there Britons living there centuries ago who'd been taken there having been abducted by aliens from Zeta Reticuli, these Britons choosing to stay there rather than return to good old Blighty, funny I don't hear you screaming for the USA to return all the lands back to the native American Indians.... funny that...

Sounds dubious and I forgot to add just now: Britons and Northern Irish will be eternally grateful for the support that he and his country gave us during the Falkland's War. It was much appreciated thanks! I'm a Briton and I couldn't give a toss about the Falklands, give them back for me, save the taxpayer a fair wad no doubt....

Is it true that he refused to allow them to name a chilean wine "Pinochet Noir" because it was deep red??? for bum joke of the thread, I'll get me coat...
-
Neither...he is beyond categorisation...he's not someone you could put into a commercial box... but one day he'll be on the list and he'll be in another form of box for sure at some stage....
-
So compared with true mass murderers such as Hitler, Genghis Khan, Stalin, Bush, Blair et al. he's quite tame really, anyway, it was nice of him to help the list by popping off this year, cheers Augusto and adios forever

The Duvaliers settled in France. For a time they lived a luxurious life - a villa in the hills of Cannes, two apartments in Paris, a chateau, along with a Ferrari. Jean-Claude, however, lost most of his wealth due to his divorce from Michèle, and now allegedly lives in very modest circumstances.[1] A private citizen, Jacques Samyn, sued to expel Duvalier as an illegal immigrant (the Duvaliers were never officially granted asylum in France). Then, in 1998, a Haitian-born photographer, Gerard Bloncourt, formed a committee in Paris to bring Duvalier to trial. At the time, the French Ministry of the Interior said that it has lost track of Duvalier and that he had probably left the country. However, Duvalier's lawyer, said that his client was still in France and denied that the exiled leader had fallen on hard times.[2] Following the ouster of president Jean-Bertrand Aristide in February 2004, Duvalier announced his intention to return to Haiti. In 2004, he announced his intentions to run for president of Haiti in the 2006 elections for the Party of National Unity; however, he did not become a candidate Source

A newby here, a stab in the dark as my first prediction, Eileen Derbyshire who plays Emily Bishop in Coronation Street, the Grim Reaper might succeed in 2007 where Richard Hillman failed. Also Pete Docherty, overdose, it's got to be on the cards.... Bobby Robson could be seeing a Red Card next year too I reckon....
