I was grudgingly told this one by a Chelsea steward..... What's the difference between a chocolate orange and the Champions League trophy? Only one of them has got Terry's name on it.

    Room 101

Now I've looked again at the post I replied to, I do recall thqa Gin and Tonic was the preferred drink for the British ex-pats in Kenya etc as it was the tonic water that contained quinine, which helped suppress malaria (or something like that). Is there an expert in the house?

I did hear in Gambia that the mosquitos are attracted to CO2 emissions (from whatever orifice) and that heavy drinkers breathe out more CO2 that normal (deeper sleeping/longer expiration). All I know that I did "the country" proud and drank more than heavily. After one night, I had over 150 bites across my chest and Lord knows how many on my back. for my part, I can personally confirm that alcohol seemed to attract them my way. Unless, of course, heavy lager abuse is a pheromone to mosquitoes? Can anyone clarify booze v moquito bites????

    Crew Of USS Enterprise

Happy to oblige..... Ted Cassidy appeared a couple of time in the original Star Trek series. The episone where he could mimic his voice was "What are Little Girls Made of" (apparently still a question blokes are trying to fathom!). He was an android, who although subsevient, was really in control. He did "appear" in a couple of other shows, but not in any prominiet part. Not mentioned, but he used to play Lurch in the 60s Addams Family. I've (sadly) just discovered that Ted Cassidy provided the growls fot the reptilian creature Gort in the episode Arena and also the voice of Balok in the "Corbomite Maneuver"(sic) He'll always be Lurch to me....

Please Let It Be... Paul McCartney

I beleive he's specifically asked for the casket to be made from "Norwegian Wood"..... He's also asked to be cremated - he's bought a Ticket To Fried. When he does "croak it". will they play the Frog Chorus at his funeral? (this could go on and on and ......) After all, pretty much all she could do was HOP anyhow....which could be appropriate

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

Well......that's going to open up the deathlist, aint it? We might as well include all teenagers in the UK (predominenty Peckham - obviously). Given the UK's "yoots" slavishly follow the US, it's only a matter of time before one of these nutters takes his homework (ie a loaded Uzi) into school. Thank God for the power of socialist teachers in the 70s (irony, by the way). I just hope that they are selected by the feral gangs for a particulary BAD example of violence.

Errrrr...don't get paranoid. Apparently, I shared the same ISP address as One Man Jury (OMJ) - check out 2004/5 contribution to understand the turmoil he created - but was still accused of being one and the same. I now know who OMJ is and if it helps (or frustrates) members, he no longer wishes to have access to a PC (so, OMJ, rest in peace).

    Morgan Tsvangirai

From today's BBC News... ======================================================== 'Snipers primed' in Zimbabwe plot Mr Tsvangirai had planned to address a major MDC rally in Bulawayo Zimbabwe's opposition has alleged the military is plotting to assassinate its presidential candidate using snipers. Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai postponed a return to Zimbabwe at the weekend. He was due to start his campaign to defeat Robert Mugabe in a presidential election run-off on 27 June. "We know there are 18 snipers, and the military intelligence directorate is in charge of this," MDC Secretary General Tendai Biti told reporters in Nairobi. "Mugabe's military intelligence has compiled a list of 36 to 40 people to be assassinated. Top of the list are our leader Morgan Tsvangirai, myself and our spokesman Nelson Chamisa," Mr Biti said. The US ambassador to Zimbabwe has warned that post-election violence makes a fair second round run-off vote impossible. Opposition and human rights groups have said hundreds of opposition supporters have been beaten up and at least 30 killed since the first round on 29 March. The ruling party denies supporting violence and says the West is trying to demonise Zimbabwe. Polls According to official results, Mr Tsvangirai won the presidential poll, but not by enough to avoid a run-off with President Mugabe. MDC supporters have been beaten in rural areas He has insisted he did pass the 50% threshold and so should have been declared the outright winner. Mr Tsvangirai has spent more than a month outside Zimbabwe since then trying to drum up international support. At the weekend, he had been due to speak to newly-elected members of parliament from his party, who will form a majority for the first time since independence. The MDC leader had also planned to address a major rally in Zimbabwe's second city, Bulawayo, on Sunday. Last year, Mr Tsvangirai was treated in hospital after being assaulted by police. ======================================================== If he doesn't make President, he'll probably make PM (post mortem)

Leonid Stadnyk (And Other Tall People)

I caught the last 15 mins or so of the programme, but I did wonder what the guy'd motive was. He seemed to be constantly kissing and touching these large women as possible....Lord knows what was left on the editing floor. Anyhoo....as the old saying goes, all women are the same height when they're on their backs.

    Peter Sutcliffe

Does anyone remember the headlines when Sutcliffe lost the sight of his eye when he was attacked in Broadmoor? I'd guess it went "Yorkshire Ripper saved from Woolworth's Murderer by Stockwell Strangler". I'm not sure about the "Woolworth murderer's" public name, but it was a headiner's dream....

Leonid Stadnyk (And Other Tall People)

Mr. Stadnick would be very upset if he knew his thread has become a bastion for male-bashing. Does a Rosie O'Donnell thread exist? Hopefully. the thread will appear as an unexepected deathlist hit for 2008. I detest the attention-seeking, no-brainer, fame-seeker.
