    The First 2007 Success Poll

I'll go for 13 as well - the record of 14 strikes me as just that little bit out of reach at the moment - the Coffin-dodgin' equivalent of Bob Beamon's 1968 long-jump. Castro to go first (if he hasn't cleared-off already). DWB

    Saddam Hussein

And the pendulum of justice swings again . . . No amount of international pressure can stop the execution of two men sentenced to death alongside Saddam Hussein, a top Iraqi official has said. DWB

Thanks for that insight Gordon. It makes a change for a passing poster to make such a decent post - no ranting at all! Cheers. DWB

    Mad about Moderators

Don't talk about it, Adminship is even worse, nowadays. Did you also have to deposit a little brown bag with unmarked 5 pound notes, at 11:15am in the left men's toilet in the White Horse at Parson's Green? regards, Hein I did indeed, but the bloke sitting down in there was a bit surprised. DWB

    Mad about Moderators

People, people, people. Money makes the world go around, does it not? I myself made sure that Grim Reaper received his "consideration" early on in the life of the DL. A good move it would seem, as the the price does seem to have become somewhat inflated with more recent promotions. HTH DWB

    Brinsworth House and Denville Hall

i have intitaited a correspondance with this person, just to check if he is lying. I like the idea that R O'S has the e-mail address 'turpinsdick@hotmail.com' but it is so obviously a lie. Also liked the photo of RO'S in Central London taken a few weeks ago. NICE THAT YOU WERE ALLOWED OUT FOR THE DAY DICKIE DEAR ...WELL DONE, YES, BEDTIME NOW THOUGH DEAR. Just for the record the message from my e-mail (millwall32@hotmail.com) to his/hers was "Dear Sir Are you truly Richard O'Sullivan or just a lying, morbidly curious, prank playing asshole? Yours sincerely Millwall32" whatever reply I get will be posted here. OK, let's assume the reply will be similar to: "Yes I am Dicky, and not a lying, morbidly curious, prank playing asshole!" What next? DWB

And for those who didn't understand it the first time, here is the Babelfish translation: I am desolée - I left two answers to the same time. I gave some to the damme which was fachêe with puérilitée of this site and the other for the snake charmer. I did not see that it was there bonds in addition for the charming man Nope, I'm none the wiser either. DWB

    Brenda Fassie

Scouting through the internet news pages, I keep coming up with storys about a 'pop diva' called Brenda Fassie. However, I can't seem to find any news about her outside of African (mainly South African) web sites. So, out of interest I am posting this topic just to see if anyone else has actually heard of her - perhaps I'm getting old and she is the best thing since the Spice Girls? Anyway, famous or not, she doesn't look like she is going to be singing any more! http://www.news24.com/News24/South_Africa/...1521329,00.html DWB

But that version featured a bloody key change - something the author would certainly not approve of. On hearing that, Norman Greenbaum would be turning in his grave. If he were dead. A key change! I think you should report this to DDPs very own Mr. Baboon. DWB

    Derby Dead Pool 2006

Thanks for that DDT, I was away last week and made a point of reading no newspaper, watching no TV and having no internet access so the email from the DDP was a much appreciated welcome home present. By the way, the moon is lovely this time of year. DWB

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Not really a chance for 2007 but certainly worth the occassional check upon is Japanese actor Ken Watanabe. Now starting to become a well-known face in Hollywood films, he is currently working with Clint Eastwood and an article about this can be viewed here. The piece states that Watanabe was diagnosed with leukemia in 1989 and is currently in remission. As I said, not one to get excited about just yet. DWB
