I went to the Q List compilers website, but the list is only available to subscribers. Shame. DWB -

Can you post a link to these latest reports? DWB

Windsor, you make posting on the forum sound like a dangerous addiction. Do you need help or can you face the cold turkey on your own? DWB

Not a near miss as such, but I thought I would report that the boy-priest in the TV show Monkey died of Leukemia a few years ago. I was quite shocked by the revelation really, I loved that show when it was on. I also found out that the actors who played Monkey and Sandy were both in a band called "The Spiders" - although I am the first to admit that this has no relevence to the DL at all. DWB

Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Vassar Clements - A world famous fiddler? You decide! There were various news articles on this guys declining health, and a link to one is below: http://blogcritics.org/archives/2005/08/10/110513.php However, I personally, have never head of him, but then again I'm not really into fiddling. Would anyone like to pass comment on his famousness? DWB -
This bloke got shot at in his car, the bullet hit his head and sort of 'bounced off' if I am not mistaken. Read all about it here. DWB

Mrs. Beatle said to me tonight: "What's wrong with Quincy? I just saw him with Dick van Dyke on Diagnosis Murder and it sounded like he had a throat problem." A quick search on the forum and Hey Presto - throat cancer! The DL - the font of all health problems. DWB

I'm no petol-head, but I have heard of a few of these folks. I opened a thread for Carroll Shelby a while ago, more well known for building/designing cars than racing them perhaps, Brabham and Moss of course, but one other that caught my eye, Guy Ligier - I can only summise he was the brains behind the Ligier F1 team. Just a thought, wasn't Peter Lovely in the Wacky Races rather than the F1 races? DWB

I will be pushing hard for Ross's debut on the list next year. Hang in there Ross, Christmas is just round the corner! DWB

The early lists seemed quite irratic at times. Someone recently asked why Peter Shilton was included - nobody seems to have an answer. (I wasn't involved way back then, so I can't help). I can only guess that research wasn't what it is today, so a smash or two might have been enough to get de Crashris 365 days of DL fame. DWB

Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Rusty Goffe (Original Oompa Loompa). Only 3 of the original Oompa Loompas from the 1971 version of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory as still alive from a cast of 10. Rusty has also appeared in Star Wars and Harry Potter amongst others, so his fame is not in doubt. All this was taken from an interview in Metro today, but there is no mention of ill-health. Do dwarfs have generally shorter (pun intended) lifespans than regular height folk? The interview didn't mention his age but he looks over 60 in the photo. Should we take a closer interest in the vertically challenged blue boy? DWB -

Stanley Kunitz was mentioned in 2003 sometime as a possible candidate but the idea wasn't progressed. He is twice holder of the US Poet Laureate position and will be 100 years old on July 29th. http://www.provincetownbanner.com/article/...b1668eb2f6c887e DWB -
It isn't looking good for him. http://breakingnews.iol.ie/news/story.asp?...160&p=yz3x4874x Bit of a bummer that he was dropped from the team this year! DWB
