    Montel Williams

I know he isn't prime candidate material, but I have found another news article on him. http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/06/16/medical.marijuana.ap/ It says in the story that you can legally have a smoke in Hawaii. Now, if I was Mr. Williams, with his wealth (presumed), I could do a lot worse than sit on a Hawaiian beach (or Californian for that matter) and have a medicinal smoke. I might perhaps have a drink or two as well... just to see if that would help also. DWB

erm... erm... I was waiting for something to start... erm... yes... yes... that was it... I was waiting for... erm... the football... yes... the football to start! DWB

    Bruce Forsyth

If you were married to an ex-Miss World contestant wouldn't you be feeling sprightly and younger than your years? Looked pretty good on the Come Dancing show thats been on the BBC recently - I think he was at Royal Ascot this week as well. DWB

    Jimmy Savile

Jimmy has made an appearance on the DL before. Way back in 1987 - well, if you're going to be wrong, you may as well be wrong by 17 years (or more?). DWB

    Jimmy Savile

In a recent 'King of Bling' poll, Jimbo came a creditable 10th. http://www.961therocket.com/script/headlin...rock&feed_id=25 DWB

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2004

Try this one out - how very British! http://www.miniclip.com/freekickchallenge.htm My best is 5 so far. DWB

    Fantasy Deathlist

Me thinks your Fantasy DeathList thread will turn into a Political Punch-up Ranting thread, but I would love to be proved wrong. DWB

    Death Links

A list of 'famous' people who have died in chronological order. This list is obviously quite useless for DeathListers as all the subjects are already dead, but you can visit and relive 'what might have been'! http://slick.org/deathwatch/mailarchive/threads.html#00213 DWB

    The Ramones ...

Conflicting stories are now emerging as to Johnnies condition. See the link below telling us he's not knocking at deaths door at this moment in time. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1488468/2...?headlines=true Let's hope not... yet. It's a long way to go until the next list is drawn-up, and I for one think Johnny is an excellent nomination. DWB

    Saddam Hussein

Trouble is brewing for the ex-Iraqi leader. The US are likely to hand him over to the new Iraqi government within the next two-weeks for trial, and if found guilty the death sentence is not out of the question. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3808865.stm DWB

    Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty of Libertines fame is starting to look a bit of a hot prospect. Having been aptly described by our grim leader as "well off his tits for quite a while now", he has now run away from his monastic rehabilitation centre in Thailand and headed for Bangkok - where he will not be able to lay his hands on any drugs what-so-ever, not one ... http://www.nme.com/news/108813.htm Go for it Pete! Montel Williams

I have heard of Montel Williams - however it is a number of years since I have had anything more than 5 channels of viewing pleasure. Could I have caught his show a few years ago on cable? I don't think it's on main-stream TV - can anyone enlighten me? If he appears on British tv I think he passes the famousity test. DWB

    Lars Ulrich

False Alarm! Lars was feeling a bit tired - not the biggest cause of death in the pop world I imagine! http://www.undercover.com.au/news/2004/jun..._metallica.html DWB

    Dead Losses (2004)

Graeme Kelling, Deacon Blue Guitarist Another personage of the pop world has bitten-the-dust this week: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3800841.stm At only 47 years of age, and having had cancer for four years, he would have been a star performer on the DL this year - but again we have been scuppered by the fact that people like to keep their cancer battles close to their chest. (If you see what I mean). Oh well ... DWB

    Lars Ulrich

In 1990 Gloria Estefan tried to get off her tour bus via the windscreen resulting in a broken back - dangerous things tour buses - perhaps pop stars should fly! DWB

    Jerry Lewis

I am a great believer in good thread housekeeping - perhaps GR could see to it that this thread gets merged with the other Jerry Lewis thread posted by Gravedigger in February? I thought Lewis had slimmed down a bit recently and was back on the caberet circuit - has he had a relapse or something? DWB [Merge done now - Thanks DWB - GR]

Magic Johnson, And Other Basketball Players

You could always amalgamate it with the thread I posted about Magic a couple of weeks ago. It will show Earvin that we are thinking of him! DWB [Good thinking DWB - now merged - GR]

    Ian Paisley

I must admit I have put the Rev. Ian in my Death Pool at work. I didn't put him in for any other reason than I have a hunch (the doctor says it will get better). However why should anyone listen to me when I didn't even include Ronnie! Doh! DWB

    15 Mins of fame ...

Now that wasn't a bad review. To be honest with you, when I started reading it I thought the whole DL idea was going to be shot down in a blazing rant, but no - the reviewer wasn't all that offended really - was she? DWB

    Bernard Manning

I have noticed a trend that the most unintelligible rantings seem to occur after pub chucking-out time, but the postings from ABU (or whoever) seem to be quite earlyin the evening. Given that they may be posted from another EU state the time difference can only be a couple of hours at best, so it must have been one hell of bender yesterday! DWB

    Derby Dead Pool 2004

I just happen to glance at the DDP leaderboard and what do I see? DeathList in THIRD!!! The team in second place has chosen two of the oldest people in the world in order to pull a point on us, and the team at the top have overtaken due to the death of Barney Kessel, an 80 year old jazz guitarist - nice! Fear not though - both the teams above have played their joker (come on Ronnie Biggs!) and the moral lead is ours as we are the only two team to have picked 3 losers. We are still in with the lead pack, but we do need a selfless act by a member of the team soon or we could start losing touch. DWB

    Fred Dibnah

Good work from Lil Sis. I think it's great when a new celeb gets forum space. It would seem that the report of his cancer has only just been made public is a bit of a half truth though. See link below. http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/lancashi...TOPNEWS0ZM.html I think his neighbours will be glad when he runs out of steam - perhaps they could bury him in his mineshaft in the back garden - Here Lies Fred Dibnah - 60ft Under Ground!
