Nope, but I tought - wrongly by the looks of it - that someone would have amassed enough of a story to earn a decent sized bung from the tabloids once Ted was out of the way.

Seeing this thread inspired me to dig out the DVD of Spinal Tap. My twelve year old watched it as well and got more of the jokes than I would have done at his age.
Classic!

Re the proof: The deal on my bet is 'someone credible' I.e. somebody blabbing the way they did when Peter Mandleson was 'outed.' I'm not a betting type and took this one on during a discussion because I thought it was easy money. I knew someone who worked at Salisbury Cathedral for years where Heath's houseguests were a fairly open secret. Since many people - apparantly - knew more than was ever published I thought the floodgates would open after his death and then - like with Peter Mandleson - we'd all reckon 'fair enough' and move on.

Hmmm, I can see this has had a major impact on everyone visiting the DL. What did he die of......neglect?
-
Frankly, I'm frustrated. It didn't bother me either way whether he was gay but if he's not outed by someone credible by the end of the month I stand to lose a fiver in a bet.

Is it just me or are the sums of money involved piffling compared to the amassed wealth and earning power of his girlfriend. I know she had a business collapse on her a few years ago but she's not exactly short of cash.
If she's prepared to come that far downmarket for a boyfriend, she could always drop in on me in Maryport. I promise I won't run out.

Rumour has it he's also going to be charged with stealing Helen Worth's chin!

That just makes us members a bit more special!

Put it this way, if she gets from Kent to Maryport she'll regret it. There's a few up here who'd swim out, tip the boat and sell a few of her hi-tech gadgets in the local pubs afterwards.

Hilary Lister now plans to sail around the coastline of the UK....BRING IT ON!!!
-
Either way, this looks bad. He's been hanging around nightclubs for years 'working' for the likes of Peter Stringfellow.
Maybe, just maybe he was getting laid easy enough at the start but he's now faced with the problem that none of the groupie types who come along have f*cking clue who he is, or rather was.

Re the Bomber: It dates back to the 'Bomber' period and is based on a Lancaster bomber. Lemmy is by his own admission 'a reading fool,' and particularly keen on military history books. There's a story that on stage in Germany, stood under the bomber lighting rig he gestured upwards and said to the crowd: 'Haven't seen one of these over here for a while have ya?'

More to the point, where do they advertise the jobs? Is there an interview where you have to blow off a few fingers with a firework?
Incidentally, Hilary Lister broke the quadraplegic distance record, so someone equally compromised will obviously have to try and best that and.....we'll get us a DL result eventually

Indeed, I remember the television pictures of him being manhandled carefully out of the rubble. I'd tended not to think of him as vulnerable or feeling pain before that. I think he's well off the radar for a few years yet.

Yep, I'd fit the bill although not in the sense of labouring death as the main theme. It's odd how often it crops up in my work though.
When I wrote comedy by the ton years ago there were loads of opportunities to get sick, discussing death and disease.

Tomorrow was yesterday and she's still kicking...down one side at least.

She's doing drugs as she conceives: Put that kid down for learning support now!

I'm not suggesting he's about to die but is there life left in his career?
He got the dreaded vote of confidence from Charles Clark today. Given that his men shot dead an unarmed Brazilian whose only crime was outstaying a visa and the impressive media savvy of the bereaved Brazilian camp there's going to have to be some serious face saving sacrifice made.
Can the man survive in his job? I say he has weeks at most.

We've been debating the curious longevity of old Tories over the last couple of days. Also, Tebbit's mind seems active - meaning it's working not that it's making much more sense - and he's still got the energy to get stuck into debates. Doubtful in the near future I'd say.
-
So it's serious enough to leave her health compromised, likely she'll survive 2005. Unlikely she'll live a long and healthy life from here on in and she's never appeared on the DL proper before now. 24 months of healthy life starting on Jan 1st 2006 might be a big ask for her now.

He never laid a finger on me. If you got that close Teddy you could still make a few quid letting the press in on the details.

Ear protectors!
Hellfire, don't get anywhere near close enough to be hit or bit. The man lost it years ago. In fact, if we're gonna have a serious Tyson debate I think we should save time by agreeing he'll never die of old age. The debate is whether he'll top himself or get involved in a ruck that leads to someone killing him.

A definite for next year if she doesn't go too soon I'd say. She's in a different league to the widow of the honourable Elijah Muhammad. Coretta King was hands on with a lot of human rights work and played a prominent role well after her husband's death. She was a force behind the scenes when he was alive. Definitely in the Hilary Clinton, Cherie Booth mould of partner. In fact it would be a bit of an insult to write her off just because of who she was married to.
-
Uki, if you're into collecting Tyson fights the best thing to do is find out where he's staying and hang around. The man is so volatile some full-on action seems to kick off wherever he is these days and the ringside seats are free.

B 20-01-1926, almost died of a stroke in the mid sixties. Surely she can't last forever.
Does anyone know what state she's in today?
