  1. Mullah Dadullah, the Taliban's military leader in southern Afghanistan, might be lucky to get to 2008. He's developed a reputation as the "Zarqawi of Afgahnistan" and I would think he will be one of the prime targets in the Allied forces spring offensive. And he's got a gammy leg, which might make it difficult for him to get out of tight spot in a hurry.

I like the name Mullah Dadullah, it has a nice ring to it.

its now Mullah Dadontdullah - he's dead

  2. it would be faintly hilarious if Gordon Brown dropped dead before june 27

I presume the 'Brown Bread' headline has already been copywrited, just in case?

    damn right it has!

  3. As mentioned by Rotten Ali in the footy thread, former England captain Jimmy Armfield is suffering from throat cancer

Quote: The prognosis is good, although I'm suffering from the side-affects of chemo and I'm not able to work.

He added: "Generally, I'm very positive about the future."

looks like you're on to a loser with this one!

  4. the 3 times Brazilian presidential candidate Eneas Carneiro has died at 69

ps since we're on a political note,if you want to see the death of a major political party, the BBC Parliament channel are showing coverage of the 1997 general election results all day today-Tony Blair and Gordon Brown take note!

  5. The BBC is reporting that former House of Commons speaker Lord Bernard Weatherill has died.

Yet another name, that had I had more bravery, I would've put on my DDP list this year, but C'est la Vie

damn it Pipped to the post again !

  6. Seamus the theraputic donkey has died aged 55:

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_headl...-name_page.html

"A gentleman called Bill stayed on our farm cottage about four years ago and spent hours each day sitting beside Seamus, talking to him and wondering what he might be thinking.

"Bill was a recovering alcoholic and his therapy in the company of Seamus gave him fresh hope."

It's worth reading the rest of the article if you want a bit of a laugh (not at the demise of poor Seamus, of course, just the story itself).

actually if you're aqainted with the Daily Recrd you'll know that that's one of the more serious stories you'r e likely to read about in it

  7. Ira Hoos is dead at 94.Now before you complain that Im reporting nobodies again I have to point out that I think she played an historical role in the development of economic philosophy uppon which the global economic and political system is based.
