Oh come come VT, you've got to tell us about that time you brought her a cup of coffee when she appeared on Look Up North Today in 1973! ("lovely woman"). And Ocky, how about that time you met her when she won the 1968 British Grand Prix in a 2CV?! ("she was a lovely woman"). Anyway, obviously I bumped into her backstage at Woodstock in 1957. She was a lovely lady. -

That’s weird, I sang his Hooked on a Feeling just the other day. Ooga chaka RIP. -
Who knew he was a national treasure, eh. Is he getting a state funeral? Maybe a Norwegian doctor was climbing the same hill but took the correct path.

Yeah, a stalwart of the, um, glory years. Barely older than me and a perfectly average player, so he’s definitely relatable.

Similar age as Julian Sands. Perhaps in your sixties your mind writes cheques your body can’t quite cash. I’m starting to feel it myself. Could have been a fall or even a heart attack like Robin Cook. I’ll explain what a ‘cheque’ is some other time.

Yeah right. What son? He had no son, that was mocked up. That picture he supposedly took? Never happened. Apollo 8 - no such craft. Etc.

I didn't realise rock manager and 60s counterculture hellraiser Phil Kaufman has outlived most of his druggie rocker contemporaries and is now 89. -
Scheduled linear TV programming will likely be gone by 2030, if not sooner.

Big crash in the Dauphiné today involving at least 50 riders. Looks like a lot of rash and bone injuries but nothing life-threatening. Stage was neutralised and probably cancelled. -

Golf clubs? Sex toys? Limited edition Dalí prints? I don’t know what Gail is famous for, but I remember her being said to resemble a ‘patronising pigeon’ in the Guardian’s Tapehead column. Well, she does. -

Married again. Younger woman. Experts confirm that there are no living women older than him.

He’s got himself into a right covfefe this time, but I can still see the American public ignoring the covfefe, which they believe to be fake, and deciding to covfefe later in the year.

Guess the date of the next UK General Election Sweepstake!
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy replied to Sly Ronnie's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I’m mildly surprised to find there have only been 9 general elections in my voting lifetime. It feels like a lot more. I was almost excited for my first one (at Warwick a few months before the DL was invented and elections would happen every December), but I’d lost any interest well before the turn of the millennium. They’re all cunts, you know. Oh aye, and all that modern pop music like Tyler Swift and Billy Irish is bloody roobish n all. -
I wonder how many times in his long life Roy has drummed along to (nay, percussively propelled) I Should Have Known Better at gigs from Butlins Minehead to… Butlins Skegness. Even at a conservative once a week, that would be well over 3,000 times. He probably never puts a paradiddle out of place either. But I bet the Naturals wish they’d charted with Tomorrow Never Knows or Revolution #9, something you could get a bit more creative on, as the van gets loaded for another trundle along the M5 at midnight.

‘Legendary’ All-Blacks scrum half (Sid) Going, going… gone. Played in the Barbarians ‘try of the century’ game of 1973. https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/05/18/all-blacks-northland-rugby-great-sid-going-dies-aged-80/

Ooh it’s beautiful down in the tenth circle of Hell in late spring, I hope you have a lovely time. Send us a postcard! Oh. You mean Chester.

Steve Albini needs no spread! Even when he was alive he would scoff at such a preposterous idea; spreads are for the morally weak!! Billy Corgan eats spreads, food of the corporate cocksuckers!!!

We shared a girlfriend. Not simultaneously though, and I never met him. I saw Rapeman play in Chester of all places. I think I remember a minor protest outside.
