  2. June Allyson the Hollywood actress, has died aged 88

I'm really saddened by this. One of my all-time favourite movie stars. Always a delight to watch. I had no idea she had been ill, in fact I thought it was the opposite & she was doing very well, health wise.

    :)

Me too. I was vaguely considering her for next year but dismissed her as I hadn't heard any health news

  3. I've only recently discovered she lives on the Isle of Man. I've never seen her and nor has anyone I know which is odd as normally at least one person. Makes me think either she doesn't live here or she's housebound. I'll see what I can find out

  4. Does anyone actually like marzipan? I can't stand it either, it tastes like medicine

Oh can I add Valentine's Day as well? Stupid comercialised crap and a waste of natural resources. How much land is given over to grown roses which last about 20 mins, which guys only buy so they get what hackenslash was talking about earlier

  5. How is Arthur C Clarke doing these days? Must be in his late 80s, didn't he have a Gary Glitter like experience a few years ago? Can't have been good for his health. Or it might have been someone else.

    DDT

There are rumours that he's a man of Gary Glitter standrads, which is why he's in Sri Lanka. Not sure how true or otherwise the rumours are though.

  6. I've given up on making a list for 2007 for a few months anyway, so far 8 that I had pencilled in for next year have died. I've got several lists all over the place with the majority of names crossed out.

The latest casulty to my 2007 list has been Robert Carrier. :banghead:

Anyone else having the same sort of bad luck with their lists?

I had that in 2004 with Ann Miller, Noris McWhirter,Emlyn Hughes and Fred Dibnah all dying when they were pencilled in for 2005. The latter two were especially annoying as they lasted until late in the year

Also sorry to tell you this but I'm hearing rumours that Ebert is a lot worse than we're being lead to believe

  7. Of course I know what this forum is about. There's 'death' in the name of it. I just don't like thinking about his death. I know it comes to all of us but him I would rather not think about. I know it's going to happen so I don't need it rubbed in my face.

Having had a look at your previous posts you don't seem to like us discussing anyone's deaths. Again I state if you are so easily upset perhaps you should think about giving this place a miss for a while.

We are not rubbing your face in anything, none of the posts about his health was aimed at you, also it's not as if we've said he's likely to die anytime soon so there is nothing to get upset about.

Now if you decide to keep posting here try and take the site in the spirit it was intended and find something to enjoy here.

I think this thread has served its purpose now. Any chance it could be locked again mods?

  8. I can start topics about what I want thankyou very much.

Indeed you can, but this is deathlist.net so if the idea of us discussing your idol's death upsets you, you really need to think about if this forum is your thing. Also nobody was saying his death is imminent, we said next ten years or so, anything could happen in this time.

Just trying to be helpful here I wasn't sure from your posts if you were clued up about we're about here.

  9. Eric Morecombe had his first heart attack aged - I think - 44, he was a heavy smoker for a long time and the care in those days wasnt' a patch on the current medical knowledge. O'Grady is unlikely to see his eighties but could go on working for decades yet.

    That's very morbid.

You do know which site you're posting on don't you?

  10. Cheers SC'd

Re the whereabouts of Maryport discussed above, it's on the Cumbrian coast, just above the industrial wasteland of Workingon (which means 'Working town' but is an unemployment blackspot and has been for about as long as anyone can remember. Maryport is also about 10 miles from Cockermouth which is just off the Northern end of Lake District national park and south of a quiet stretch of the Solway coast broken by the tiny and picturesque village of Allonby and - eventually - the permanently fast asleep 'holiday' resort of Silloth.

I remember holidaying in Silloth. The Heysal (sp?) stadium tragedy happened when we were there. That's about as much as I can remember apart from going horse riding

On a clear day we can see the Cumbrian Coast from Douglas. Could Matyport be one of those places we can see? I'll wave to you tomorrow lunchtime.

  11. How about DeathList Top Trumps. We could eithet have all the candidates from all the years, just the successes or choose one particular year. Categories could be:

    Age.

Health (Just because you're old doesn't mean you're unhealthy. Look at Albert Hoffman or Norman Wisdom for example)

Lifestyle: Sister Lucia at one end of the scale someone like Richard Prior at the higher end

    Fame

    Likliness to attract ranters

I'm sure there are loads of other categories you clever people could come up with

We can get them done here

  12. Anneka Rice, Anthea Turner, the whole Royal Family, David Cameron, Jade Goodie, Graham Norton, Geri Haliwell, Angus Deaton, Alistair Campbell, Robert Mugabe, that awful woman from The Good Life and To The Manor Born whose name escapes me at the moment, Alex Ingletorpe, Jeremy Irons, PJ and Duncan, Kevin Costner, Anthony Worral-Thompson, Cherie Blair, Richard Branson. The world would be a much better place if they were thrown on a mass bonfire tomorrow morning.

    Do you mean Penelope Keith?

    goodlife_1.jpg

If those clothes were still around now, I'd have to have them thrown into Room 101, too.

    That's her!

I really shouldn't post on this website after midnight. I was obviously overtired which always makes me start ranting. I would never dream of posting something like that during daylight hours.

I don't have an opinion on Penelope Keith. Felicity Kendal on the other hand is one of the most annoying women on television. That voice grrrrr

Just to clarify - it's the horsey looking woman on the right that I find annoying.

And it's the short smug looking one that I find annoying
