  1. Aw, thanks, y'all, I'm touched. Really, I am and I love that pic Captain Oates...would you mind if I tried to doctor it for an avatar?

Oh, Canadian Paul, thanks for the pic of Alyson Hanigan! Being a massive Buffy fan that really made me smile & gave me an early morning rise. She's recognisable over here, but I think most people refer to her as 'that bird who stuffed a flute up her chuff one time at band camp' from American Pie.

I had no idea she shared my birthday & I am rather pleased that you have brought it to my attention, as it makes a pleasant change to be co-evil with someone semi-interesting- as against Sharon Corr, Tommy Hilfiger, Nick Lowe & Sir Alan Sugar. Oh, and WWF's 'Undertaker.'

    Thank you all again!

    BHB,

count yourself lucky, I share my birthday with Diana Rigg and Wendy Richard. :D

    Belated birthday greetings btw

That'll be 20th July then. Natalie Wood was also born that day and , sorry to make you feel even worse but so was Jonathon Morris

  2. Had a nasty accident on a barbed wire fence about 4 years ago. Needed a tetanus jab.

How did this happen? Were you running in the darkness while you were drunk?

I was hiking with some German friends ( a quick walk they said. turned out to be a four hour hike). We hiked over what used to be the East/West border and I got electucuted on some barbed wire

  3. I see George Gaynes who played Henry in Punky Brewster is still alive - he'll be 90 next year

Also born in 1917 but probably not famous enough is Richard Baer who wrote for Bewitched

    Outside chances

Bernard Fox born in 1927 played Dr. Bombay in Bewitched

Alice Ghostly born 1926 played Esmeralda in Bewitched

Bella Emberg only relatively young at 69 but you never know

  4. I would definitely prefer dying peacefully in my sleep.

However, I have always had a fear of drowning or being strangled. IMO, I believe that the way we die is based on our fears. I developed this opinion a long time ago when Natalie Wood died - she always had a fear of dark water and drowning. So, maybe it is kind of lame to base my opinion on one occurrence, but I'm sure there are "others" out there who died in a way that they feared the most.

I have heard that a fairly common gypsey curse is to ensure people will die the way they fear most so you could be right. I wonder if James Dean was frightened of dying in a car accident and Sal Mineo(spelling?) was frightened of being murdered. If so it might be true that Rebel Without a Cause was cursed.

  5. On the job, definitely. Sadly I suspect it might be strangulation by Mrs Godot (still that can also be on the job I do believe, haven't tried it but have been to enough inquests of those who have).

    Godot CFY

Really? That's actually one of my biggest phobias along with someone dying whilst on the job with me and being killed in a car crash.

  6. I bet Tim R is pissed off.

He, like me, chose Clarence Ray Allen, but decided to play his joker on Michael Morales, another execution possibility. Although Morales' execution did receive less publicity than Allen, you could bank on the Guardian or someone mentioning it.

However, Morales' execution has been indefinitely suspended & court actions may keep it suspended for some while i.e. 2007 onwards.

We'll wait & see, but that is unlucky - excellent research, and just his luck to choose the one execution that didn't happen!

Is it just me or does every condemned killer have an alliterative name or a middle name that always gets mentioned along with the first and last name?

Oh? Are you a condemned killer then?

  7. Suicide in a very expensive hotel room.

Or perhaps die of a mysterious but not too horrible disease. I'd like my death to have an air of mystery about it. I don't want to die in an accident as I'd like to be aware that I'm dying. I'd also like to get to goodbye to people I love

  8. Met one of our closest family friends today & was reminded, during the conversation (it was Wallace & Gromit being brought up that did it) that she is the great-niece of Peter Sallis. So, I asked about his health & the last time she heard from him around Christmas 2005, he was doing "well."

Whether he has a thread or not, I don't think he's going to die soon.

Brian Wilde, I've met. He was far from difficult, in fact he was kindness personified.

Maybe he's nice to fans but difficult to work with. I've heard from more than one person that he's not the easiest of men to work with.

  9. Sort of a long shot, but Valentina Tereshkova is starting to get up there in years.

She's still fairly active, and no health issues that I've been able to dreg up, but one never knows.

We must have a psychic link. I was just about to post her name. Anyway here are some other cosmonauts who might be worth considering.

    Konstantin Feoktistov

    Valeri Shatalov

    Or how about some astronauts

John Glenn (born 1921. I think he's been considered in the past)

    Alan Bean

    Michael Collins

    Jim Lovell

    Wally Schirra
