    Hollywood Possibilities

Seeing as how she is dead, does she really belong in 'possibilties'? I think it's clear she is no longer a possible contender. (unless death comes in stages.... no stagecoach jokes please) Poor Celeste, a mere 95 years. I wonder if her sons ever reconciled with her or did her sex starved groom keep them away.....an article from just last year tells of that rift. Liza Minnelli

Yesterday, Liza with a Z, was a guest on the premier of the afternoon summertime filler show Good Afternoon America and was in fine form etc. etc. (Good Afternoon America is a temporary show. It replaces a dreadful short lived talk-cooking-home design program called The Revolution which started earlier this year as a replacement for a daily serial, One Life To Live which had been cancelled after 40+ years. In the autumn, the slot will be filled with long time daily serial, General Hospital. The General Hospital slot will be taken over by the wench Katie Couric, who is most remembered for a failed run as anchor of the CBS evening news. In this move, Ms.Couric will have managed to secure employment at 3 of the major networks. She had been with NBC for several years prior to going to CBS. I wish her as much success on her ABC show as she had with the evening news. ) Anyway, back to Liza with a Z, she is healthy as can be. Photo Flash: Liza Minnelli Performs 'New York New York' on GOOD AFTERNOON AMERICA "Live At The Winter Garden" is derived from the original master engineered by Phil Ramone. The recording includes performances from Minnelli's Broadway show in January 1974 as well as three recently discovered live bonus tracks that were not included on the original LP. Only pirated versions of the album have circulated since. Minnelli last starred on Broadway in Liza's at The Palace...! which earned a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event. Minnelli has won a total of three Tony Awards awards, including a Special Tony Award. She has also won an Oscar, an Emmy Award, two Golden Globes and a Grammy Legend Award for her contributions and influence in the recording field, along with many other honors and awards. She is one of the few entertainers who have won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. The actress was most recent seen on the HBO series "Arrested Development" in the role of Lucille.

    Bunkum Or Bunker?

Have not given much thought to it. We will likely get a first sign in November with the election here, although it could be argued that if the Olympics golds only go to athletes from countries who have names beginning with letters L, A and C that that may in fact be the first sign and the election would be the final warning. To have a nice place for spending eternity. We don't know what things will be like and we may be in need of nourishment and slumber chambers. And you will notice we have done quite well with our survivalist skills. Do you think trashy television shows such as Survivor are just a coincidence? They are designed to let people know that we can survive even in the harshest of conditions. (provided of course that there is an island for exile) There was and still may be. The FBI among others was planning to shut all systems down which had been infected with the DNS Changer virus. Many servers took measures to keep things functioning but it's unknown how long this may last. Yes there was. Chanticleer had announced it three or four times in news events in the Rose Garden. Here you find more: Behind the Threat: FBI Internet Server Shutdown - ABC News use whichever search engine you favor to learn more. Since there is a supposed Internet shutdown at least 4 times a year, most people have stopped giving it any regard. Keep a virus scan going and in most cases things will be safe. Since the Mayans didn't really explain what they meant by the end of the world it could be any number of things. Since the Mayans ate a fair amount of corn products, and since the price of corn has recently risen dramatically due to a dire drought, this may be the end they were referring to. At any rate we may well be around after the 'end' has come, we may be hurtled into outer space or collected by inhabitants from another planet seeking our superior knowledge....or maybe just planning to have us work their fields and frolic with their kinfolk before roasting us up as Klakamoghs Festival food.

Think really really hard about Margaret Thatcher! On an empty stomach you want me to think of her?? That's downright cruel. What next, Madeline Albright?

    Death Anniversary Thread

It was 5 years ago today that Deathlist had it's 4th success for the year of 2007 with the sudden passing of Charles Lane who was barely 102 at the time. Charles Lane - DeathList Forum - Page 4 and it has been 10 years today since the surprise death of Rod Steiger, at 77, a mere month after completion of his final film Poolhall Junkies.

    Quiz Time

7 out of 15. I had #s 1, 6. 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 correct. Not too shabby since I'm not even British. A bit of a hard quiz and some of the questions are just confusing.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

Seeing as how Ernest Borgnine has now died, I would like to suggest another nonagenarian, Nehemiah Persoff who was born in August 1919 and will be 93 in a few weeks and while we have him there, aging actress Maxine Stuart was born in 1918, just turned 94.

    The Dead Of 2012

Oddly I had been thinking about old Ernie just the other day. Is there anybody else I should think of? I'm unusually good at thinking about people.

    The President's Men

It was called Watergate because of where the break in took place at The Watergate a group of strange futuristic looking buildings. Years later a woman in a different Presidential scandal moved in, her name was Monica and she had a blue dress with drippings from either salad dressing or a President name Clinton.

    The Dead Of 2012

I didn't know Dr Kildare was that way inclined. Well, he was played by Richard Chamberlain. Although not very well. Felton by the way was also responsible for The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. which starred Noel Harrison, the son of Rex.

    The 8th Death Of 2012

I went with the same person I chose the last time.. If they stay on the list enough years and I keep voting for them I'm going to be right at some point.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

Hmmm.....this could lead to a special genre. People on death lists who are incarcerated.
  16. People come and go on the Internet. Godot had an announcement a long while back that he'd not be posting again here, yet he did. I took an absence for whatever reason or reasons and didn't say anything about it. It always gives me a chuckle to see people say that they won't be posting again. Usually they return as the same person. Some who think they are witty and able to conceal their identity reappear as Stevie Nicks or at least as someone else but with a little effort they can be spotted. (just ask Bennett Cerf if you have doubts) Then there are those who can pull it together and fool people ........at least for a time. At some point they put up a post that gives them away.....or at least people think it does. If the person doesn't reveal that it is them then how are we to ever really know? In the end, I come for the posts. I stay for the entertainment and if an entertaining poster departs, I am just glad I got to see their posts before they moved on to their next gig.

Also responsible for his book As I Lay Dying Additional notes for this day are Brandon DeWilde, who took a wrong move on his motorcycle 40 years ago today. DeWilde gained fame in the movie Shane by crying out "Shane! Come back!." He was 30 Noted too, John Frankeheimer the director of The Manchurian Candidate, Dead Bang, 7 Days In May and other movies left Earth 10 years ago today. He was 72.

    Henry Kissinger

We should be grateful they didn't show pictures of Kissinger getting a cavity search. Kissinger is not responsible for all the woes of Greece, or of a divided Cypriot populace and island. That falls squarely on the shoulders of the people and their lacking leadership to thwart or at least stave off Turkish invaders. May old Hank live another 20 years! In news related only by name, Brian Kissinger of O'Fallon who beat brain cancer twice, set an air speed record on July 4 this year in his flight from St.Joe, Missouri to Cahokia, Illinois. Hosni Mubarak

Nobody really seems to know, He was apparently not as severely ill and close to death as originally reported but then after that news on Mubs himself just ceased existing. In other news the CEO of his Cleopatra Ceramics has been forbidden to travel. Mubs has likely been removed from Egypt and is soaking up the golden rays of sun in Tahiti. If I hear or read any health stuff on him I will report back.

    Eric Sykes

Never heard of him and looking at the lackluster response in this thread, including more than a day after he croaked, not many others have either and if they have they don't seem to really care. The annual list would be a little bit better if there were people who were known not only on both sides of the Atlantic but on both sides of the Pacific as well. Darn shame the little bugger couldn't have held off until next May and been 90. Oh well here's hoping his family is well remembered in his last will and testament.

    Death Anniversary Thread

It was on this day 5 years ago that Boots Randolph died of death. Moderately young at the age of 80 he'd had a stroke and then did croak 1 month to the day beyond his birthday. In lesss even numbered deaths, We look back today and recall Don Drysdale, a baseball great who made numerous television appearances as himself on weekly sitcoms. He was 56 when he died on July 3 in 1993, next year he will finally score. (or at least be gone a score)

    Andy Griffith Characters

I just heard the news while watching the Andy Griffith show which appears daily. Later I will watch Matlock but it will be a sad moment. Maybe it will be one of the more uplifting episodes where he buys a hot dog outside the courthouse. Hopefully and episode with Linda Purl.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

I would like to suggest Audrey Totter. The actress was born in 1918, currently 93 will be 94 in December. A one time contract player for MGM she was a familiar if often unknown face on the screen. Of the main characters in The Postman Always Rings Twice, she is the only one still alive. Lana Turner is long gone as is John Garfield and Hume Cronyn She also starred in Lady In The Lake with Robert Montgomery and appeared in other films and several television shows, last known appearance was in 1987 as a nun on an episode of Murder She Wrote.

    Yitzhak Shamir

I had known this was going to happen I was discussing it just last week with my compadre and I said to him as he ate his blintze, I said to him Yitzy will be dead by the time the Sabbath ends. He shook his head in disagreement and ordered more blintzes. He was a good man at a time when being good is frowned upon. Mercy was shown him as he had delightful eyebrows. I can only hope that in weeks and years to come he will remember that he is dead.
