The oldest of my four family cats died today. She was diagnosed with kidney disease last month and I'm grateful I visited her shortly after the diagnosis as I wasn't bracing for her to decline this quickly. From mom's updates in the past 3-4 days I knew deep down she was ready to go but it still really hurts. She was a lovely cat. I was a teenager when the family got her and she was the first cat I had explicit memories of getting. The cats I grew up with were gotten either before I was born or still a baby, and all died 2008-2010. She knew two of those cats and was really close with one of them. Now she's gone too. Time is sobering.
