People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Death Impends replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
So here goes... After private talks in the PM about the Wiki lists being deleted I decided to set up a standalone Wiki "Oldests and Lasts" to host the data. In the long term this will be far more feasible than creating threads on the forum. I copy and pasted the mirrors of the lists that were deleted from Wiki. Think I got them all... but if I missed any, WikiWand still has the mirrors up for now so that'd be a quick fix. The actual links, calculations of ages, etc, will have to be readded manually, which obviously would take some time and effort, but that can wait as just having the articles up again in some form was highest priority. I also might need to reinstate some more templates from Wiki albeit the age and date related ones are largely up. Additionally, this Wiki can directly link to pages on the original Wikipedia, which involves the template {{wp|(name of article)|(display text, if different from article title)}}. For instance {{wp|Nehemiah Persoff}}, or {{wp|Marsha Hunt (actress, born 1917)|Marsha Hunt}} Currently only open to registered users though depending on how things progress may start allowing guest edits. https://oldestsandlasts.com/index.php?title=Main_Page -
(I just noticed Biblio's confused reaction to my previous post. When checking in at work sometimes I rush so forget if it's a brand new round or an established round I already posted in )

They really want to rack up the deletions... -
Two teams are animated by the death of supercentenarian Disney stalwart Ruthie Tompson. markb4 jots up 30 points, while theoldlady fittingly receives 25 points from a verrrrrrrry old lady.
-
She only really went on deadpoolers radars once she was circa 106. Moreso a case where it was cool that there was someone who worked on Snow White who was still alive moreso than Ruthie Tompson herself being some huge name (albeit clearly respected within her field).

Eddie Robinson is a hit here, listed under William "Eddie" Robinson - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-10063245/Former-GM-oldest-former-MLB-player-Robinson-dies-100.html

My 2018 B Team had 5 unique hits. The kind of achievement I'd be kicking myself for if 2019 didn't happen!

Japanese video game composer Koichi Sugiyama, best known for his work on the Dragon Quest series and for his far-right extremist views (denial of the Nanjing Massacre, downplaying the prominence of "comfort women", etc), dead at 90.

Scratch that - won't be fully settled in until the weekend most likely so I replugged my PC with the HPDP file for the time being So quick Tapie update. Ill corruptos still die eventually, and three teams are rewarded for their patience as we play Taps for Tapie. 40 points for Funeralopolis, 35 for Annami, and 25 sub points for Charles De Gaulle. And with that is a new scoreboard. Annami rockets up the scoreboard, however catching up to Funeralopolis will prove a tricky task in these final three months as he extends his own lead: 1. Funeralopolis 319 2. Annami 254 3. Perhaps 239 4. CaptainChorizo 215.32 5. Book 215 6. Pedro67 210.19 7. Eesti 210 8. Sean 208 9. markb4 201 10. gcreptile 191.32 11. msc 190.32 12. Tapie update will be delayed - currently busy with moving so won't have computer access for several days

He really puts into perspective how different a political era it was. If the Akin-McCaskill race had been held in the modern polarized political environment it would be an easy Akin win.

Longtime part of the deadpooling furniture Greg Gilbert has died. He had typically hovered around the Hartlepool waters as a unique and indeed has been a unique for a different team each of the past three years. Pedro picked him in 2019, drol in 2020, but the one who actually gets the points is Annami with 35 base points and 14 more for the uniqueness for 49 total.

A slow-burning cancer Delayed the inevitable for Greg Gilbert into 2018... and 2019... and 2020... and 2021... but not into 2022. Pedro gains one point, whereas Sir Creep shows an indie streak in not picking Gilbert and thus attaining the solitary lead. 1. Sir Creep 8 2. Pedro67 9 3. The Quim Reaper 15 =4. Country For Old Men (And Women)

There's also: Mervin Shiner (b. 1921) Mitchell Torok (b. 1929) Leroy Van Dyke (b. 1929) -

Changes duly made.

Think so. At a very quick glance, here's the surviving US Hot 100 hitmakers born in the 20s I can find, not counting session musicians (ie Bill Pitman) or behind-the-scenes figures (ie Bacharach, Gordy): Ray Anthony - 1922 Tony Bennett - 1926 Ed Ames - 1927 C.W. McCall - 1928 April Stevens - 1929 Leroy Van Dyke - 1929 McCall and Stevens are the only Hot 100 chart toppers of the above lot (though Bennett and Ames did have #1s earlier in the 50s).
-
50s has Burt Bacharach-Hal David in 1958 and 60s has Doc Pomus-Mort Shuman in 1961, at a quick glance. Mick and Keith too.
-
Ray Anthony had "Peter Gunn", which peaked at #8 a few months into the Hot 100's existence.

I'm aware I'm playing with fire. I may have no choice but to restore the balance by naming the upcoming "Dead of 2022" thread after whichever Australian washes up on Wikipedia's "Deaths of 2022" page first before the other time zones catch up.
