German YouTube personality Philipp Mickenbecker a canny pick here by gcreptile, who took note of the HPDP's acceptance of two preeminent German papers. The acknowledgement of his death there provides Reptile with 40 base points and 16 extra bonus unique points, resulting in a 56 point haul overall.

Belatedly spotted that the death of Charles Henry Coolidge on April 6 has yet to be acknowledged in the DDP (QO here)

11 teams thought Yoo Sang-chul could defy pancreatic cancer like he defied the conventional wisdom of the 2002 World Cup. They all guessed wrong. Only Book and Sir Creep retain their clean sheets, with Creep having correctly assessed YSC's survivability for two Inverses in a row. =1. Book 0 =1. Sir Creep 0 =3. An Fear Beag 2 =3. LizLemon 2 =3. Yoo Sang-chul's football career presented one of the World Cup's great underdog tales, with the South Korean national team making it all the way to the semis in 2002, a feat not achieved by them before or since. Somewhat like how Norfolk & Good nearly won the DDP in 2012. Admittedly South Korea co-hosted the Cup that year, so N&G would've had to have nearly won the Norfolk Dead Pool for the analogy to fully work. Anyway, the_engineer was the only one to pick YSC as a main team pick, and scores 25 base points plus 10 bonus points for 35 total. JoeMoneypenny and theoldlady obtain 25 points from their first sub hit.

Former Governor of Alabama John Malcolm Patterson dead at 99. He was the oldest surviving former US governor, and the last to have served during the 1950s.

Bob Richards is another throwback pick. I picked him in the first round as he was a presidential candidate under some fringe white nationalist party, several decades after his Olympic career.

Matthews was probably first because bunnies are good at going fast

Noted I've broadened the scope of the thread title now

Okay, the Ideas and Possibilities/Dead of 2021 thread Siamese twins have been separated to the best of my ability, though the I&P OP remains in the Deaths thread as I cannot separate that one. Now I need a raise...
-
I'll gradually split the posts meant for the I&P thread that got merged into the Dead thread back to here over the weekend.

I was half tempted to pick him here as a joke due to his infamous spot in deadpooing history. But thought about it for half a minute before deciding against.
-
I'm just going to be diplomatic and "pretend" I didn't see the above post just this once...

Glad to hear you pulled through it. If you'd like I could change the password on the old one to regrant your access (under the assumption you couldn't log on due to forgetting the password?). Feel free to PM me if so.

Former US Representative Lester L. Wolff now festers. Testament to the dangers of spending all your time tweeting. LizLemon picked Wolff as a sub and howls to the tune of 25 points.

Norman Lloyd has died. Assuming that he really has died, and is not just the figment of the imagination of some kid with a snow globe, here are the points for the Hollywood Squares participant. 40 + 24 = 64 points for Funeralopolis. 30 + 18 = 48 for Dying Probably, markb4, and the_engineer. 25 sub points for Annami and chilean way. And it is this Lloyd-propelled haul that sees a new leader in our latest scoreboard as Funeralopolis overtakes previous leader Book who had narrowly inched past Perhaps after the death of Anne Buydens. An excitingly close game but plenty of months to go... 1. Funeralopolis 229 2. Book 215 3. Perhaps 214 4. Eesti 185 5. Dying Probably 183.19 6. CaptainChorizo 175.32 7. markb4 171 8. If the above is true, his famous last words: -
Please don't create threads for the sake of creating threads, especially when you aren't even sure if the person in question is famous enough for one. Voice actors thread is sufficient for all your Kathryn Beaumont needs.
