I once had a close brush with a barn owl. Out with a friend walking dogs, we passed some farm buildings where there is a derelict cottage.
"Didn't know the old house was still standing, let's have a look", sez he and stepped into the doorway whereupon a barn owl flew out over our heads.
Scared the shit out of us, but the owl would likely say the same.

There's a thread for Aristocrats which is where this chap could go.

I've only started three threads in 10 years.
None are about individuals.

Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" only hit #3 after her death in 2012 and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Man In The Mirror" both hit #2 in the weeks after his death.
Nonsense. There have been lots of posthumous #1s. John Lennon had three in a row IIRC (Imagine, Woman and Starting Over). That was the real reason Ultravox's 'Vienna' only reached #2.

SC11 minutes ago, Sir Creep said:Seriously? You're a fucking idiot for thinking that a serious rule suggestion. It was a swipe at Chorizo, period. Joey and Toast are fucking idiots too for liking your drivel.
The word you probably meant was uninterested which means not interested. Disinterested means impartial, unbiased. Since you're being so charming I thought I'd help you out there.

I read 'The Winds Of War' years ago.
I've also read 'Herman Wouk Is Still Alive' by Stephen King.

I have heard of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma though because it killed my mother. She got halfway through a course of chemotherapy at which point it seemed to have almost wiped out the lymphoma. However it came back immediately and she was dead within two weeks. So you never know.
She'll definitely get an obit in the UK as dance moms is an incredibly popular TV series in UK with viewing figures up to two million. Kinda of pig headed to think just because YOU'VE never heard that other people haven't as well.
Where did I mention other people? All I said was that I haven't heard of her.
The main point of my post (which you rather rudely ignored) was that I have some experience of the disease she has. You're an insensitive little cunt.

I hated Vindaloo. Horrible thuggish song. Three Lions was for Euro 96 of course, but wasn't it adapted and revived for the World Cup?
Apparently there is a World Cup song called England Crazy by Alistair Griffin. Sounds dreadful.
-
There was talk of it, I shall have to see if I can remember where I saw it. Football songs are usually excruciating though, the only good ones that spring to mind are Three Lions and World In Motion.

I can actually bear to watch this lot. They seem like a nice bunch of lads, and not overpaid workshy prima donnas for a change. They all sing the National Anthem unlike some of the little shits that have worn an England shirt. I always liked Gareth Southgate, unglamorous hard-working player, he knows what it's all about.

So post about it in the appropriate existing thread. I know that is hard for you to wrap your head around.
But you said - oh, never mind.

3 minutes ago, Zsa Zsa's leg said:In America, Abby Lee Miller is about 20 times more famous than all of the following names combined: Linda Nolan, Leah Bracknell, Herman Wouk, Linda Nolan, Peter Carrington, JPDC, Stirling Moss, Tessa Jowell, Prunella Scales, Leslie Phillips, Jill Gascoine, Vera Lynn, Charles Aznavour, Honor Blackman, Stanley Baxter, Valery d'escgardepissstain, Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, June Brown, Denis Norden, Ian St. John, Jimmy Greaves, Clive James, Joni Mitchell, Gazza, and Mark Smith. I understand that this is not an American site, but even an American reality show personality from TLC has to be more relevant in Britain than Nolan, JPDC, Valery d'Whatever, or Ian St. John
I assume trashy tabloids like the daily mail and the aforementioned national enquirer "sad last days!" types will be all over ALM's death.
Relevant? Only to the lowest common denominator.

Oddly enough, something I read reminded me of Bobbie Gentry and sent me down the internet rabbit hole last week. I read all sorts of articles about her and learned a lot that I hadn't known.

It irks me that people really skew the 'celeb' line to post whore. I've called them out. And your post here, Spade, is subconsciously doing the same and I applaud the statement in the form of questions.
1. Are they ill (and I mean ILL not hangnail rushed to hospital for heat exhaustion, I mean ill having something called a 'di-ag-no-sis'. In fact let's use that as a rule. The person needs a diagnosis of either an inoperable, incurable, or terminal illness. Anything less isn't ill enough for a thread. Obviously heart attacks strokes etc, if BAD (not Kevin Smith e.g.), can be substituted. Really Fn old may take the place of illness, but let's say at least 95 for that to kick in.
2. Are they celeb? Not necessarily DL famous, but at least they had to be somebody that will garner a large amount of national (and hopefully worldwide) newspaper attention when they go. That takes a little subjectivity out of the equation. Anyway, this is the biggest violation. And you know who violate this -- the 'teens' in this group. OK let's say the 'under 25 crowd'. They know who they are.
If you don't understand the difference between starting a thread for Kenny Rogers and starting a thread for some guy Kenny _____ who was a star midfielder for your favourite team Southhampton, you're lucky Sir C isn't an Admin.
3. AAARRRGGHHH -- Is the person DECEASED? Why do you fuckers open threads for individuals AFTER they've died? For fucking tribute's sake? Moronic. You had your chance whilst living, you blew it. Let it go.
4. Are you post-whoring? Why yes....yes you probably are.
Actually, in the case of sudden unexpected death, we wouldn't have "had our chance whilst living" unless we broke your Rule #1.
