I think that he is a must list, with Bob Dole; but I do think this board and the DL will lean towards having conservatives die quicker then libs. No sample siz but I've been looking at this page long enough to observe the dislike Thatcher hope bet (Nancy R. will make the next list). B Graham is a good pick but I bet he is higher that Jimmy Carter. The DL picks are more leaning then the DDP or the news after...just saying. I don't like any politician so I have no ground to defend.

If he makes it, he has to be a strong candidate for No.1, notwithstanding Cecil, Winner or people like Bernie Nolan...Global coverage should be considered for the DL list. DDP is a different deal....its a test of judgement....does someone get an obit because they are someone's mother or appeared on a TV show. I enjoy both but I like to see the DL 50 have a little more gravitis. Bob Dole should be top 10 as well. Maybe GHW Bush gets in next to the Thatcher. jmho

Regardless of party, I don't think anyone can dispute the committment to country and exceptional leadership that will be lacking with these old guard veterans are gone. Still one of my favorite authors. I didn't understand this pick 2 years ago. Given the traffic on his page, I'm not sure how sexy a pick he is at number 19. As Mr. Wallach and Dunn have proved picking old dudes is a game for patient gamesters. You got Ray Bradbury. Is Harper Lee sick? Gore Vidal was in much worse shape. You guys are certainly well read. There are some authors that like to drink that might be more interesting. Still, given the committment to the pick, I think you have to see this until the end.

Do former Miss America's pull UK obits? Mary Ann Mobley. She is married to Garry Collins of US talk show and bad TV shows fame. I've been away for awhile and need to reaclimate to the UK bios. I think that she would get one because she was one of the last Miss America Dream stories who married an actor and had a nice life. I think Garry Collins would get a UK obit so maybe his Miss America wife would?
