too bad http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/...80122102502.htm will come too late for him

They've treated Suharto's symptoms - his bleeding, his low hemoglobin levels, his fluid in his lungs. But yet have they even addressed the REASON why Suharto has such symptoms? He's had such problems for years - it's not unrealistic to expect that he'll have them again if he doesn't stay in the hospital or get a pacemaker. It's entirely conceivable that he'll be back
-
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/breakingnews/...y-good--doctors lmao what the hell - have they forgotten precisely the reasons why they admitted Suharto into the hospital in the first place? EDIT: well apparently they treated those conditions WHILE his organs were barely functional - i suppose it's funny when machines are supporting your body. but he still needs a pacemaker upgrade. and his kidneys - are they improving at all?
-
holy sh*t............. I have never seen another case in which the media seemed so certain that the person was so close to death, and yet he was able to recover. this might be a first...

aka there are no (immediate) threats to his life anymore. the news reports don't even say whether he's been "cured" of something or not. we're all left in the dark. What the hell happened to all his past conditions? it seems like they've all disappeared. the news treat him as better off than he was PRIOR to suffering multiple organ failure now (he was described as with "little hope" PRIOR to multiple organ failure). and there has been no explicit mention of him not being "very critical" anymore lmao i am laughing so hard at this

hahahahaha the trend continues tuesday: "On January 8, 2008, Suharto's health worsened as doctors diagnosed him of anaemia and low blood pressure due to heart and kidney complications. There was internal bleeding, fluid on his lungs, blood in his faeces and urine which caused haemoglobin drop." thursday: suharto improves slightly friday: suharto suffers multiple organ failure saturday: suharto improves slightly sunday: suharto very critical monday: suharto improves slightly tuesday: suharto develops sepsis and irregular heartbeat wednesday: suharto improves slightly == and wtf happened to suharto's pneumonia? and wtf happened to "very critical" condition? or to "suharto has little hope"?

meh, for the last few days, whenever I pick up the first traces of reluctant consciousness upon waking up, I am reluctant to get up and to check the updated news on Suharto (especially on Monday morning) though i'm a US West coaster, so I actually get the update on him late in the night. All I know is that he's not dead, so long as the news isn't updated in the 24 hr interim and I'm worried about the possibility of antibiotic resistance since antibiotics have been applied to him for quite some time now. already "suharto" has catapulted into 2nd place among my "most frequently googled items" and "Suharto" as catapulted into 6th place
-
who predicts that the septic bacteria of suharto will evolve antibiotic resistance?
-
Suharto is a lot like the pope - you can't trace either of their conditions to the top leading causes of death (aka related to artery clotting or cancer) - they just die by becoming really really weak
-
thursday: suharto improves slightly friday: suharto suffers multiple organ failure saturday: suharto improves slightly sunday: suharto very critical monday: suharto improves slightly tuesday: suharto develops sepsis and irregular heartbeat and as a comparison... sepsis:

http://uk.reuters.com/article/worldNews/id...K30360420080114 improves (slightly) we're seeing a pattern thursday: suharto improves slightly friday: suharto suffers multiple organ failure saturday: suharto improves slightly sunday: suharto very critical monday: suharto improves slightly (again) i kept on googling suharto today (hah, I was sick today, and my temperature was unstable for a while). I felt that he wasn't dead since that would otherwise be reported in the media. (his health updates come every 24 hrs)

ironically just 2 hours ago or so i was trying to google up both pinochet and lady bird johnson, who both seemingly improved before dying. i think "50-50" is overly optimistic at this point (especially considering that we know very little about the physiology of eldery patients - we still can't even make semi-accurate prognoses). i find it ironic that they "just" discovered an obstruction in his airway. suharto is unfortunate for having so many ailments waiting to be discovered before they actually are. http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5ihun7i...7px1EQ4xjLkbH7A suharto's heart briefly stopped a few days ago. and now it's even weaker.
-
Suharto "very critical" and i thought they were less than fifty-fifty even before this.

Suharto stable: http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5ihun7i...7px1EQ4xjLkbH7A
