In Argentina, we believe the islands are ours (just look at a map, will you?). Plus the problem is not with "who started" the war, but with "who behaved live a war criminal?"

Fingers crossed! (the champagne is chilling in my fridge)

My mother's aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given six months to live... but she lived for seven more years. Patrick Swayze seems like an alright guy, though I am not a fan of his movies. Ghost, in particular, is in my opinion one of the (if not THE) most overrated movies of all time

I know! That's why I didn't put a description on the Topic title... I toyed with "is he giving up the Ghost"? Nah, too obvious!

Russian prima ballerina Natalia Bessmertnova has died after a long illness at the age of 66.

This is a case of people in glass houses... Al Fayed talking about Prince Philip’s "dodgy" German past.... what about al Fayed's past? A friend of mine worked briefly for the Sultan of Brunei. It is well known that al Fayed conned the Sultan and bought Harrods with the Sultan’s money. I hear that that is the reason why he will never get a UK passport.

Hmm... only that I meant it -
What about the abuse claims? What about the "linda tapes" he bought for £200k? I have no time at all for Heather, but that Macca seems like a piece of work.

Dead Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse's husband has had an overdose in prison. Maybe somebody should start a thread just for him? -

It looks like he might not be getting that tired after all!

Dead Amy Winehouse

I saw her live at the Isle of Wight Festival last summer, and she was sensational. I agree that the tabloid coverage has been excessive, but I don't believe her drug taking is all she is famous for. And some people in this thread have said that she has no talent and only a regular voice.... WTF?!?! Rock on, Amy! -

I have watched his reality show a couple of times, and my question is always the same: Doesn't he just get tired?? I had a look at the article. I liked this bit: "She's the relationship that will last the rest of my life" (that's not saying much though, is it?)

Great Gigs In The Sky

Wow! That would be amazing. I saw Roger Waters play The Dark Side of the Moon at Earls Court last year and was blown away. I would love to see the whole Floyd, though! -
I have a question: what does DDP stand for?

Britney Spears, Kerry Katona, Heather Locklear et al.

Spot on. -
Sacrilege, this thread is sacrilege, I tell you! I am a big fan of this guy, and hope he lives and continues to make documentaries for a long time.
-
Well thanks a lot! What about famous epitaphs? Is there a thread for that already?
-
Couldn't agree more. I was at the Isle of Wight festival last year, and left early because I just couldn't face watching them.

Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

I vote for Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. "Sir Paul", because he wouldn't stop boozing, even when alcohol didn’t mix with his meds. Jacko because that face of his is a ticking time bomb and should explode any day now . -
What a shame! Those would have been great last words...

My favourite are Oscar Wilde's: "My wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. One or the other of us has to go"

Just saw Cloverfield last night. I am a big fan of JJ Abrahams and am looking forward to his Star Treck movie. In any case, Cloverfield was amazing... everything that movies like Godzilla and Independence Day should have been... but weren't.
