"Glitter raped me when I was 15"

I don't know about a death curse, BUT... I wish Paul McCartney just died. I cannot stand the smug bastard. He was invited to play Glastonbury Festival on Sunday night on 2003, but he would only take the Saturday night slot. As Radiohead was already booked (and still are relevant to the music scene) he was invited to play Saturday on 2004. I was at both festivals, by the way... but tell me: what is a has-been like Paul, who hasn't had anything valid to say in well over 30 years, doing headlining Glastonbury on the Saturday? That is what the Sunday slot is for! . It seems, though, that whatever Paul wants, Paul gets. If he wants to show his crappy paintings, he gets the Liverpool Museum. Just think about all the young, talented and starving artists with something to say. Same goes for publishing his poems. And don’t even try telling people this… you get that reaction, you know, the “But it’s Michael Jaaackson!” kind of blind adulation. Talking about which: Michael Jackson for the 2009 list!!

So we have someone who knows Quilmes Beer AND Borges! Now I'm suitably impressed!

It looks like he went on a week long whisky bender after the collapse of his marriage. My favourite bit of the article: "Everyone knows Keith likes a drink - his favourite tipple is Scotch," Mr Green added. "But it has never been a problem for him and I doubt whether it is a factor in his collapse." Nicely illustrating the fact that for you to be considered to have "a problem" with alcohol in the UK you have to be George Best.

She has been rushed to the hospital and is now on a drip. -
Well said, The Miser!

RIP: Cashley Cole's marriage.

"Glitter has asked about starting a new life in Hong Kong where there is no sex offenders' register to track his movements." You see, what Glitter doesn't understand is that the Great British Press will hound him, no matter where he goes. The sex offender's register is the least of his problems.

Dead Amy Winehouse

AKA Declinehouse. She has been in rehab for a whole WEEK now . The girl wants to attend the Grammys. If you had meddling parents (and in-laws) like hers, you'd all be probably taking as many drugs as she is. Actually, let me rephrase that: If I had meddling parents (and in-laws) like hers I would be taking just as many drugs, I tell you! -
OK, so I may be too new in this forum to admit that I actually LIKE Pete Doherty, but hey. I have the "Down in Albion" CD and saw Babyshambles perform in London last year and what a great gig it was too! Not that I don't think he'll be kicking the bucket, though... I think he has it coming. As my beloved Radiohead would have it: "you do it to yourself, you do..."

Hey! I read one of his books only last year (The Gulag Archipelago). I think that having survived what he has, he won't go easily... as we say back at home "he will probably bury us all" -

Personally, I am in no hurry to see this one go. "The Catcher in the Rye" is one of my favourite books. JD Salinger, I salute you!

Albert Hofmann! Shine on, you crazy diamond! My theory is that all that acid is what kept him going -
I'm liking the way you think, Star Crossed Godot, thanks for the video. There was a documentary with Carol Thatcher not long ago, called "Mummy's War", where she went to Argentina, and seemed quite puzzled by the reaction that she got. I couldn't find any videos online, which is a shame, as it was such fun to watch! These old ladies asking Carol about her mother's health (Carol, bless, thought it was a good-natured question and replied that she was a strong woman and was keeping quite well, thanks). Next thing you know these old ladies are asking her if she is concerned about the fact that her mother is going straight to hell when she dies! It was just too good! I mean Carol's face: priceless!

Hi all! This is my first post. Originally from Argentina, and having met a survivor from the Belgrano sinking, I am counting on Thatcher to die this year! I have had a bottle of champagne in the fridge for months now... but as we say back at home "bad weed never dies".
