First faller at the fence is HCW, mind you I'm a bit of a Jonah, so no doubt she shuffled off a couple of hours ago and the obits will be pouring in by the time I get up in the morning... How exciting! We should do the same with Patrick Swayze right after Jade stops prividing a constant source of entertainment.

Of course... the mysterious fourth tooth! Actually, that one didn't need removing after all.

Cancer has spread to the brain.

This all reminds me of the time when I had to have my wisdom teeth removed. The NHS butcher of a dentist made such a mess of the first extraction that I was left traumatised. I went to see my new (private) dentist (Doctor Socrates, you couldn't make it up), and he prescribed 3 Temazepan taken 30 minutes before the appointment. He used local anaesthetic as well for the pain, but it was the happiest dentist appointment I ever had! For the third and final wisdom tooth I requested the Temazepan, but on the day "thought I would be brave and try without it"... then split the 3 pills with my hubby on the Friday night

I had to go with Swayze. -
I don't think she'll beat Jade Goody, but I would say late May (the latest).

Don't think so. I am the closest, betting on the 15th.

Honestly, if that was me I would rather have both my arms cut off. I simply couldn't live without the Internet.

Well... I can tell you that one famous action man form the 80s used to have transvestites visit him in him room... And that Alan Parker is a gent, and Antonio Banderas really was trying to avoid Madonna during the filming of Evita...

New Here And Just Saying Hello - 2009

I suspect that there's a lot. Most people I know aren't even aware that you can log out of Facebook. That would be me -
It is now Nov2007, but the crap I am reading makes me sick. Don't you people have any respect for others? Jerry is a wonderful person who has done so much for others, he is the most selfless man I know. Yes he is a sick man, but the last thing I want to read about is "how long do you think he'll last?" I think it's discusting that there is such a thing as the deathlist, I'm sure if someone famous dies, we will read about it, we do not need this informative little site. This is written to all of you, get a new hobby. I personally met Jerry Lewis in 1992, when I was working as a Purser on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and he was there filming. He was without doubt the rudest, most self obsessed celebrity I ever encountered (and I met quite a few when I worked in the hotel business some years ago). I saw him receive his award at the Oscars the other day and he didn't look well at all... I would expect he won't be around for long.

Hubby and I were watching Attenborough's latest series the other day, and wondering how long will he be with us. On the plus side, he is a man with an exciting life, who evidently loves what he does. On the other hand, he is by no means young... May he live forever!

Thanks for the colonial clarification. In the UK, we allow our greater wealth of grammar and spelling to differentiate between two words that (vaguely) sound the same. English vocabulary caters for "ass" and "arse" (just not in the same way). In fact, we even BOTHER to pronouce them differently.....the clue is they are different words, meaning different things. That must cause all sorts of confusion in middle-USA...."honest. officer, I was only fondling the farmer's wife's ass"...etc Get over it. After all. we have to deal with Microsoft's insidious dumbing-down and mangling of proper English. John Irving says in his book "A Widow for a Year" that bad English is fast becoming the universal language.

Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?
Dia de los Muertos replied to Brinsworth House Baiter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Re: Oasis, I agree on both counts. I saw them in Glastonbury (2004), and even though they got really bad reviews, I thought it was a great gig. The critics slated them for not doing any talking... while I thanked them for it (see your first point above). It was a muddy, rainy night, and Liam was wearing a white parka. I remember reading in the NME a hilarious article in which the critic said that Liam's immaculate white parka was a metaphor for everything that was wrong with that gig -

You hate Springsteen? What a good judge you are!! hmm, not sure if you are being serious... in any case, I didn't use the word "hate". Oh Im being deadly serious. If I was being sarcastic, you would know it. No, you didnt use the word hate, I naively assumed that if you didnt like him before and you liked him even less now, you wouldnt be first in the queue for a ticket. So you dont HATE him. I HATE him. And thats good enough for me. Completely over-rated in my opinion, cannot sing for sh*t, and I also think he's a complete c nut. Springsteen, that is, not you LFN. I have never heard you sing I think he is completely wrong for a Saturday night headlining slot. Maybe Sunday night (the oldie slot)... as surely he is not relevant anymore? -
Jack Tweed "in the Doghouse" on wedding night. Looks like Jack Straw did the right thing relaxing Jack's curfew so that he could spend his wedding night (and might I say, probably his only night as man and wife) with Jade. According to the above article, Jade went to bed at 10:30 PM, but Jack continued to party until 2:30 AM, when she came down in her pyjamas to look for him. Got to love it! I think we are looking at March 15th, by the way.

CarolAnn, you have a point. I still can't get over the fact that in this country women don't have a smear until the age of 25... and then every three years, and by their doctor's nurse. In other countries where I lived, including Argentina, you are checked once a year from the moment you become sexually active. And you are checked by a gynaecologist, not a nurse. Same with mammograms. I was told by my gynaecologist back in Vienna in 2000 that it was about time I had one done. I moved to the UK shortly after, and when I told this to my GP she said that I had to wait until the age of 55 WTF? Is it me, or most women who get breast cancer are dead by 55? And when I said this to my GP, instead of her saying "I know, but the NHS can't afford if. If you can, I suggest you pay for it privately" she replied "well, they are ALL wrong (The doctors in the US, Argentina, Austria) and we are right. There is no need to have these checks earlier or more often. I think it's something to do with younger breast tissue being denser (less saggy) thus it's difficult to detect tumours accurately and a significant ("insert random statistic here") number are missed giving false reassurance. That and as we know radiation can actually induce cancer so perhaps younger/premenopausal women are more susceptible to ionising radiation?. I'm sure wikipedia has the answers, as always, should someone care to search for the true reasons. There is of course another suggestion, perhaps doctors are making the assumption that those over 55 aren't getting regular touchy feely sessions so they don the latex gloves and take the honour. OK, but what about the smears?

I saw The Whip play in the Scala in Kings Cross in November. Great band from Manchester, hailed by some as the heirs to the Happy Mondays. Then I saw Radiohead last year, as part of their In Rainbows tour in London. Radiohead are always fantastic (It's the third time I see them). Oh, and who can forget Roger Waters playing The Dark Side of the Moon in Earl's Court in 2007! From this last Glastonbury, my favourite gigs were Hot Chip and Squarepusher. ... and like always, there were a couple of bands I was too messed up to find. The most notable miss this year was MGMT, and I still regret it but hey, I still had a great time. Looking forward to this year's festival... though I won't be watching Bruce Springsteen. I didn't like him when I saw him in the 80s as part of Band Aid, and I like him even less now. -

Yet another facet of this saga that perplexes and irritates me is this notion that she has to earn as much money as possible for her kids before she dies. The insinuation almost seems to be that if she doesn't earn this extra couple of million, then they're going to be living beneath the poverty line for the rest of their lives. What utter b*llocks! Firstly, their mother was already a millionaire before they were born, so they've already been brought into a world of privilege that I doubt few of us ever experienced. Secondly, even if money does run a bit tight in the future, what's stopping them being like anyone else in going out, getting a job, and earning a living for themselves. Now there's a radical idea! From what I hear, the biological father is a waste of space, and Jade wants her kids to have a private education until they are 18. Plus, after the Shilpa Incident she didn't earn any cash for ages.... that is until she got cancer and became the Brave Jade that seems to be in the cover of every tabloid these days

Whatever it might normally cost other punters, she will be expecting to get freebies. A parasite to the end. You said it. "Clifford explained: 'They went to Harrods and she found the most beautiful dress. Mohamed Al Fayed heard about it and said, "That's my wedding present to you two".

She's certainly not looking great.

Seen Any Good Films Lately?
Dia de los Muertos replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I want to see that film. Mickey Rourke got some great reviews for his performance.
