Any thoughts on last night's alternative speech?
-
Yep, I'm taping it on Sky+.

I think 14 is a record?

But she is supposed to be on the "stage three" of the disease... I guess she might well die in the next few years, just not necessarily in 2009...

Did anybody see the documentary on Jade Goody in Sky Real Lives? Hey, no snarky comments, let's say I was doing... ahem... research. She has been given a 40% chance of survival... I wonder if she will be in next year's list...
-
Thanks all, that all makes sense :-)
-
See the front page. Here. Thanks a lot! That was really interesting. So this is one of the best years ever... I can't believe there was a year with a score of 0!! Can't wait for next years list. So who puts it together? The mods? Is there somebody with the last word if there is a disagreement? Sorry if these are really obvious questions...
-
OK, here are my questions: How does this year compare to others? Is 12/50 a good figure? Which year had the highest score? And the lowest? When is the new list announced?

Being from Argentina, I have to go with Thatcher, though Swayze is a very reasonable choice. -
Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters

I got married by one of the Alabama Three (The Sopranos theme tune, anyone?), at Glastonbury 2004. The BBC was there and asked us if they could film it. We said yes, and they showed our wedding on News 24 the following morning, as part of their Glastonbury coverage. A friend on mine was on a business trip in the US, turned the news on, and saw me getting married. Crazy or what? I eventually got a copy of the show from the BBC. I always tell people it is the best wedding video they will ever see, because it is only 2.5 minutes long -
UK Festival Goers?
Dia de los Muertos replied to Dia de los Muertos's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Well, I was in Glastonbury this year, and Jay Z was mobbed. Personally, I don't like a crunch, so I moved on. My favourite gig this summer was Hot Chip on The Other Stage at Glastonbury. Those of you who have read other posts of mine will be surprised to hear that they were playing at the same time as Amy Winehouse was playing the Pyramid Stage. But it looks like I made the wise choice. Bring on the nerds! -
I joined the deathlist a few years ago under a different name, I think it was Mariaaa, but I never posted anything. You can go ahead and delete it. I am sure nobody wants "dead" accounts (and the puns keep coming today).

UK Festival Goers?
Dia de los Muertos replied to Dia de los Muertos's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Hey man, I take my own Woodstock to whichever festival I go to ;-) If I could go back in time, it would be to Radiohead's legendary 1997 gig at The Other Stage at Glastonbury, which always gets voted as one of the best gigs ever. -
Now that is a story I would like to hear in detail!

Wishful Thinking Death List
Dia de los Muertos replied to Monoclinic's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
The "very brave" Kylie Minogue And her talentless sister Dannii (got to love the spelling) Paul McCartney David van Day from Dollar (the Brits will know who he is, if they've been watching "I'm a celebrity") Bono Michael Jackson Sting Trudy Styler Madonna Mick Jagger That tosser Chris Martin Cliff Richard hmm... there seems to be a common theme here: I guess I hate "have-beens", who haven't had anything relevant to say in a very long time, but cling to that "legend" status to hog the limelight and continue to release records that nobody wants to hear, thus depriving young, struggling musicians of today of their chance to be heard. There, I've said it! -
OK, I must be thick, but the only Deathlist groups I see in Facebook are open for anybody to join.... oh, and there are a few "request to join" ones, but not sure which one it is. Can somebody please tell me what the group is actually called so that I can join it? Thanks!
