Cornel Lucas died on 8th November and now has a suitable obituary, giving Lights, Camera, Action...Fin: A Rattly Score Of Cinematic Old Puffins a unique hit. Just nine or ten more in the next month and the title's mine, all mine. To celebrate, here's a photo he took of some French bird.

Hillsborough campaigner Anne Williams has terminal cancer (article from late October) -
Kenny Morgans's death has already been mentioned in four threads, so what harm can a fifth do for such a true footballing legend? There's still The Ones That Got Away for anyone else that feels the need.

Musician/composer/arranger/conductor Frode Thingnæs, who holds the honour and distinction of writing two last-placed Eurovision songs for Norway in the mid-70s, er død. I'm picturing a Scandinavian Ronnie Hazlehurst.

Founding member of the Chieftains, fiddler/boner Martin Fay, has died at 76.

Mrs Eliot is from a bygone era.

Whilst acting on this information and adding Robert Stigwood to my database I found Beryl Vertue but she is another of these elusive people whose birthdate is not common knowledge. I do not think she is a good pick for 2013 as on the Sherlock DVD extras she comes across as fit and well but when she does go her association with Sherlock and Stephen Moffatt (Mother-in-law) will guarentee an obit. Does anybody know how old she is? More than that. She was the producer of 'Men Behaving Badly' as well as having a long professional association with Spike Milligan and Tony Hancock... Beryl and Ken were on a BBC2 Sykes tribute film today - both looked good for a good few years yet. Hats (or wigs?) off to 85-year-old men vain enough to still dye their hair.

Turn that frown upside down; your tastes are catered for elsewhere.

I see the POBs are on ITV tonight, but I haven't spotted any brave, terminally-ill adults amongst this year's runners and riders. And have they cancelled the Jimmy Savile Lifetime Charity Achievement Award this time around? I'll get Carol Vorderman's coat.

I don't know but this is just an educated guess. He was considered almost the British ambassador to Brazil in a jokey sort of way . Flying the flag abroad. Some of those job descriptions are almost as good as the regular thread taglines: Unwin - funny speaky blokily Bin Laden - Arsenal supporter Bruno - panto star Reagan - (former) idiot Whitehouse - whinger Foot - tramp Bernard/Thatcher (D) - drunkard Savile - paedo/rapist OK, I made the last one up.

Paddy Roy Bates hasn't actually lived on Sealand for quite a bit. He retired to Spain a few years ago leaving Roughs Tower in the hands of caretakers. If he lives in Spain now then there's a good chance he owns a swimming pool. It could be so ironic if he drowns in a 8m x 3m area of water, rarther than all the time he lived 50m above the English Channel. His Highness has died.

dead Sheila Rossall (Infamous Sick Girl From The Seventies)
TAFKAG replied to Vinegar Tits's topic in DeathList Forum
WTF??? Winner of the 'random post of the month' award. Surely the correct response to the post is 'Already reported two posts above'. And three posts above that. And 16 posts above that. Her posthumous deathlist activity outweighs her cultural significance by a good 28.7%. The site's first up when googling her; even Clive Dunn can't equal that. -
Manhattan Projector, Robert F Christy, has died. Harry Gold died in 1972, according to wikipedia.

Poster illustrator Arnaldo Putzu died on Sept 1st.

South African Corrie Sanders, who took the WBO heavyweight title from Wladimir Klitschko in 2003, has been shot dead in a robbery.

Anyway, I'm glad we've established Ray's dead. I liked Brookie, particularly its strange death throes when Phil Redmond used Jimmy Corkhill as a public mouthpiece.
-
Yep, I was just watching him in Porridge and wondering who was still around, which led me here. The 'where's Ray: over- or underground?' campaign starts now.
-
According to the fount of all knowledge, Ray had a heart attack and was done bobbin' in 1989, so either wikipedia's wrong or bingo saw a ghost. Both options are equally plausible. We'll just have to wait for UK Gold's The Unforgettable Ray Dunbobbin.

Santiago Carrillo is dead. Wikipedia claims there are 26 survivors left; I have no idea how accurate that is.
-
How about Robert Kubica, seemingly the current era's Andrea de Cesaris. He suffered another rally mishap the other day.

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread

I'm not overly up on my American soaps but Persil should be awarding a trophy to the late John Ingle, who seems to have been in most, including General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place, Dallas, (the great) Knots Landing and Beverly Hills 90210. He was also the school principal in Heathers. -
