Said it before, I'll say it again. The Nolan Sisters are massive attention seekers. You'd think she'd be spending her dying last days making the most of life, rather than giving interviews to rags like The Mirror.
-
Are you having a laugh?! That's a tiny amount of people. Millions evade the TV licence every year.
-
You facepalming my comment doesn't make it any less true @Kenny. Barely anyone gets prosecuted each year over TV licensing. Your friend must be a total numpty. Send my kindest regards and sympathies though.

@maryportfuncity, when was the last time you came on this forum and posted something that's not off topic? As in, what year, if ever? -
Evelyn Boyd Granville (wiki) dead at 99. One of the first (if we want to be technical, she was the second) African-American women to earn a PhD in mathematics. Picked by @Summer in Transylvania at various points in the 20/20 pool.

I reckon Peter Cellier will go this year too. Been quiet for too long, and just got a gut feeling.

Your friend must have been an idiot to get caught. It's nearly impossible to get caught, despite their threatening letters. I'm aware that they send people round ground floor properties to peer into your living room, but the solution is don't have the TV facing any of the windows in any of the ways, draw the curtains etc. Vast, vast majority of people cheating the TV licence never get caught as their officers can't get into blocks with flats etc.

Times obit for Lord Palmer. Reveals he was a chain smoker, and died from a stroke.

Would like to see Tom Baker live another 6 months to celebrate his 90th. … then I’m not too bothered after that

Is there a point in this exercise?

Josette Baisse (wiki), French Olympic cross-country skier, supposedly died today aged 98. Despite being 98, Baisse was "only" France's 5th oldest living Olympian. @Canadian Paul, another for you. -
Someone who appears to be a relative has been editing the page of British middle-distance runner Bill McKim (wiki) to say he died on 28 May, aged 81. One for you to look into @Canadian Paul (if you're still reading).

Death notice in the Scotsman this morning for David Crawford, of Edinburgh, Scotland's oldest man, who has died aged 108 (born 21 Mar 1915). The new titleholder is John Dougall (born 3 Oct 1916) of Dunoon... who is also the oldest member of the SNP.

FindAGrave is notoriously unreliable and full of mistakes or even outright hoaxes.

Now confirmed as updated on the Parliament website. 41 out of the 92 hereditary peers allowed to stay in the House of Lords in 1999 have now died.

American basketball player Harry Donovan (wiki), aged 96. -
Pretty much clickbait. It's their pop-up restaurants that have gone under – they're owned by a different company. Their main Sydney chain, and all the UK locations remain unaffected as it's a different owner.

Now reverted but this morning someone edited the Wiki page of Panamanian cyclist Oscar Willis Layne to say he died in February 2016 (aged 97). He was born in June 1918 so almost certainly dead, but never been able to find death information for him via any source online. If anyone else can cast their eye over Mr. Google, FB etc. and see if they can find something, it would be a great help. You get more results when you look up "Oscar Layne" (which seems to be the name he went by most of the time).
