Henry Grossman (wiki), American photographer best known for his shots of The Beatles and JFK, dead at 86. Died from a fall back in November but only coming to public attention now. Times obit.

We’ve covered this at least twice before in the last 2 years. He’s in his early 90s now.

I think you need to Google what significant means. It doesn’t mean you necessarily like them!

Is Hope on Accurint?

That's a different Ramesh Mehta. This one. It looks like a bot website that has mixed the two of them up.

Henry Kissinger... I was surprised to find that he had a voice acting credit! Playing the character of "Ducky Daddles" in a kids TV cartoon based off of fairytales! He also crept into an episode of Dynasty somehow...

I'm reading his French Wiki page atm (yes, I do actually speak French!). It says he was a consultant on the show and presented. That's not an acting credit. I'm not including presenting credits, otherwise I might as well add all the journalists, reporters etc. in.

The world's oldest (verified) living person and the world's oldest Olympic athlete are easier to measure than actors because in the case of oldest living people, there's an "official" body that monitors them plus a lot of media attention given their extreme longevity. With Olympians there's a limited number of them in the first place. You can't really do the same for actors because 1) there are millions of them and 2) there isn't a single body for actors like the Olympic Committee or the GRG/Guinness. We can crown somebody as "the oldest living actor" on here but in reality there will likely be someone out there older who had a very minor credit (that's another problem – define what an actor is) or is an obscure stage actor in a small production theatre in a foreign country. Also, actors tend to fade into obscurity if they fall out of the industry. For the sake of curiosity, maybe it's time we compiled a new list on here of oldest living people with acting credits who were born in 1923 or before. But please provide evidence that they're alive ofc. I have purposely excluded anyone for which there is zero recent evidence of them being alive (e.g. Eunice Anderson, Daphne Courtney etc.). Others on the list I've reluctantly added because I think it's unlikely that they've died off radar but they need some attention. Are German actresses Bettina Moissi and Agathe Poschmann both still with us? Tommy Dix... his birth name is on his IMDb but it doesn't show up on MyLife strangely? Hope Foye was covered by her local press around 2008... still alive? A video on YouTube tends to suggest she was in 2022. Norman Spencer was alive in 2022 as of 192.com. Betty Brodel and Ramesh Mehta I'm not 100% on. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied the rest are still here.

The death of Dennis Lotis got a mention on a BBC news bulletin yesterday here. It's at 2:10. Take it this doesn't count as it's not in written form?

Melvyn Hayes appeared on Talking Pictures the other day... Turned 88 last month. Has a tinge of the "I may last another 3 years, I may die tomorrow" about him. A pick for three teams in this year's DDP.

Updated the list of Cold War leaders following the deaths of Constantine II, Strougal and Silayev. 46 remaining.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Facebook tribute from a friend/neighbour. -
@Gisooo Eileen Bennett… do you know if she was born in 1919 or 1920? Sources seem to vary on this and I see there’s a discussion on this matter on the talk section of her Wikipedia page.

Given that Gorbachev died recently, Ryzhkov isn’t just the last living PM of the Soviet Union, he’s the last living Soviet leader. All Chairmen, General Secretaries, Presidents etc. are dead. Very significant.

Have a wank instead then. It'll be more productive than you parroting what's already been covered. Facepalm this post if you agree with me.

Not sure why you're face palming me you muppet. You asked for an explanation, so I gave you one!

Yikes. There were 54 living on 24 December! Is there reason to suspect that they're mostly/all COVID deaths?

Whereas a scholar of Foucault certainly would have a dog in this fight! This is like the Michael Jackson stuff. As soon as the accusations appear, his fans rush to his side. I'm generally against trial by Internet or by lynch mob and obviously he's not here to defend himself. The allegations do however come from multiple sources and have been published by reputable sources. The Spectator, July 2021: How Foucault was shielded from scandal by French reverence for intellectuals The Times, March 2021: French philosopher Michel Foucault ‘abused boys in Tunisia’ Given that millions of men travel to the Far East, Northern Africa, Latin America etc. to abuse children, I don't find it hard to believe that one of them happened to be a philosopher. There's a good Medium article here that puts all the jigsaw pieces together. It seems likely he was.

Wow, death toll is now 16,380 and expected to continue rising. Looks like the toll could surpass the 1999 earthquake. -
Oscar Lawton Wilkerson died yesterday, one day before his 97th birthday. Death notice from his local church on Facebook.

You’re just not helping. The death was already announced in the 100 Club thread (where deaths of centenarians are supposed to be announced). Chilean way checks the forum more frequently than you and would have been aware, likely before you. He’s the host. Just let him make the announcements. You’re just sounding like a parrot and it’s not helping anyone.

Any evidence that this woman is actually alive?!

A blog. Nice reliable source there.
