First woman mayor of Bend, Oregon... wherever that is (for the benefit of all the forum members who are not psychic).

Karma has finally caught up with his bullshit.

So someone had a blank Twitter account, changed the screen name and username after the interview? It takes the whole of 2 minutes to do.

@edm88, Myron Stankiewicz (wiki) died on September 11, 2024, aged 88, according to an unsourced edit to Wikipedia. Someone in Burlington, Canada added it so I think it's accurate. Is there anything on the SIHR?

You made a reference to Willz' age and he didn't go apeshit. Evidence, if needed, that he has his favourites and chooses to be offended the rest of the time

Susan Calman… Miranda Hart… is that you?

I don’t know how you know what my taste in men is! Wasn’t aware that I really had a “type” as such either. Enlighten me! I always just assumed you were an old woman from the username “Clorox Bleachman”. Now I know it’s in fact your weekend persona, you dirty old screamer!

Wow. We have humourless women on the forum. And there was me thinking everyone was a Scottish gay man.

A woman wrote Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager? Makes sense. They were both totally shit.

British character actor Denys Graham (wiki) died yesterday in London, aged 98, according to his page. Plenty of mentions on here before, least not because he had supporting roles in several iconic war movies – Zulu, The Dam Busters, Dunkirk (1958 version), and All Quiet on the Western Front (remake). -
I did do a search but I don't think it was posted. Turns out were more survivors of that attack than I remember there being at the time. I just assumed that most of them had died, but that wasn't the case. 12 died – there were dozens of others who either survived or were not present on the day due to other commitments. Was also reading about Zineb El Rhazoui (wiki), the Moroccan-born journalist who is a huge critic of Islam. She was absent on the day as she was on holiday. She continued to work for Charlie Hebdo until 2017, when she quit after claiming the publication had finally caved to Islamist demands. I don't know enough to say if that's true or not, but it would perhaps account for why there hasn't been any other attempts of terrorist attacks on the publication since?

Simon Fieschi (wiki), French writer and survivor of the 2015 Charlie Hebdo shooting, found dead in his hotel room at 41.
-
Andy Ireland (wiki), U.S. Representative from Florida (1977–1993), dead at 94. Originally elected as a Democrat, he defected to the Republicans in 1984.

Ouch. The Times not holding back at all.

1) I think you mean sarcastic, not ironic 2) I already stated who she was and what role she played in the film – Elena. You just repeated exactly what I said 3) Develop a sense of humour, Spasimodo

Such an iconic role. Why no star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? No imprint at the Chinese Theater? Today a nation mourns. She may be gone but she’ll forever live in my heart! RIP Slay Queen!!!

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting to read this in The Times today. Death notice for Lady Elizabeth Prior-Palmer, aged 90. Widow of Sir Otho Prior-Palmer (1897–1986), Tory MP for Worthing from 1945 to 1964. That's an age gap of 37 years. Dirty bastard.

Ellacott gets a full Times obit, and it reveals he died from lung cancer.

Someone just edited the page of Nobel laureate chemist Rudolph A. Marcus (wiki) to say he died on October 22nd, aged 101. Looked quite frail in a picture of him in July when he was using a Zimmer frame. The editor's IP is Texas-based and has no previous edit histories. Let's just wait and see I guess... -
Myra McFadyen (IMDb), Scottish actress who starred in Mamma Mia! as Elena, dead at 68. No idea who she was, but ppl won't shut up about her across social media so I assume some ppl recognise her.

Geoffrey Tibbs OBE dead at 102 and straight to a Times obit. His obit seems to focus more so on his career as a submariner officer during WWII... ... and whilst I'm on that note: Tony Ditcham, one of the youngest recipients of the Distinguished Service Cross during WWII, dead at 102. Telegraph obit... ... and finally, Don Sheppard dead at 104. Telegraph obit. He had attended the D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations some months ago, but did not travel to France, instead attending a local service. As we're approaching Remembrance Day, expect more obits in the coming weeks.
