That's nothing to Rave about.

Otis Williams, the last surviving original member of The Temptations, just wrote a tribute piece for Mary Wilson in The Guardian. He's 80 and seems to be doing great. Not worth considering for 2022 IMO.

Please don't give the gerontophile readers on here ideas for more pointless Wikipedia pages! -
Probably not, her son Christopher Rice owns the rights and is an author in his own right (they even collaborated on a few novels). I think he holds similar beliefs to her. Fair enough I suppose. If you put so much into something, maybe you come to feel strongly about people potentially bastardising it. "Fan fiction" can often stretch a long way. Didn't Fifty Shades have its roots in the fan fiction of Twilight? Twilight was bad enough, but Fifty Shades was a whole new level of shite (unless you're a 40-something year old randy housewife who isn't getting any, then it's the most fingersome fun you'll get all year).

Ummm… Or you could’ve just done a quick Google and it would’ve revealed dozens of news sources. Are you drunk Marc?

He was rumoured to have died from cancer in the 70s. I know you hate the UK Singles Chart thread but maybe you should check in once in a while. We shared a few sources that claimed this info.

Carpenter wouldn't die off radar. He's too well connected, and as one of the few openly gay names from the Golden era, that in itself makes a great write up. He was close friends with Debbie Reynolds, who obviously died in 2016, but he was still appearing in documentaries up until 2018. As I noted earlier in the year, he's been quiet since then, and a glance at the autograph hunters community reveals nobody has had any luck with him since 2018. I think he's a dead cert for 2022, sadly.

We know. Reported in the Sitcoms thread in June by @markb4. Please use the search function first to see if a death has already been reported. Also, FindAGrave is not a reliable source. I've had to remove 3 memorials for celebrities on there this year, because they were all still alive. Golonka got obituaries from the Hollywood Reporter, Variety, The Mirror, and The Sun. Quote news sources instead.

Tbf, I didn't know she was the 32nd most read author of all time. I wonder if anyone will ever knock William Shakespeare off the top spot...ofc the Bible is a more read fiction piece but presumably doesn't feature on that list because it had multiple authors

Got a little further forward with this... Born Katharine Elsie Bain Hogg in Aberdeen on 12 June 1915 to Ceylon missionaries. That record is on Scotland's People. She then moved to India aged 11 (so c. 1926) and her subsequent trips between the UK and India under her maiden name are recorded on Ancestry. Whilst in India she married English RAF officer Donald (presumably his surname was Gordon?). They then moved to Kenya and then Sudan. In July 1981, they were living between Cyprus and Jersey. I can't find anything subsequent to that date and before the publication of her last book in 2001 on Ancestry, nor can I find anything from after that point. But hey, at least it's a step in the right direction.

They were made into significant Hollywood films... Interview with the Vampire was huge. Starred Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, Kirsten Dunst. It's one of those movies you can rewatch too. Very entertaining. Brilliant soundtrack from Guns N Roses also. What country are you in out of interest? I appreciate Hollywood films aren't to everyone's liking but I can't imagine there are many corners of the globe where her reach didn't have a big impact.

You've never heard of Interview with the Vampire or Queen of the Damned?

Done.

They're playing it up. I imagine as a tactic to try and play in his favour against an extradition to the U.S. given the recent ruling. My personal hunch is there's nothing immediately wrong with him.

Another boring entry prevented from DDP 2022. Good. -
Thankfully not. I went once to Mexico around 10 years ago. It was such a shithole, I can safely say I won't be returning in this life, and hopefully not in the next... unless I'm unlucky enough to be reincarnated as a cochineal or a Mexican wolf man.

Poor Anne Rice. One of the biggest novelists of the 20th century. Dies unexpectedly and gets little more than an utterance on DL Forums. Vicente Fernandez is a big fat nobody outside of Mexico and has had 100+ posts about him.

Still alive as of 10 minutes ago. -
Thank you @Elpresidente and welcome to the forum! I've updated both the Sounds Incorporated and the J.A.L.N. Band entries for the death of Holmes, which occurred on Thursday according to this Facebook post from a friend. He survived a heart attack in 2013 so I suspect it may have been cardiac-related.

He didn't permanently disappear in 1956. His Wiki is somewhat misleading as it doesn't reveal that he subsequently re-emerged (there is some minor coverage of him up until the 1960s in the archives on Newspapers.com). He died in 1991 according to several family trees on Ancestry. No idea where he died... possibly abroad, but his widow, Elva Jessie Bump, died in New York in 2010.

@Gisooo, resize your images to anything from 100 x 100 to 300 x 300 (max). It's a total pain for users if they're using a desktop version of DeathList to have to bypass huge images.

Oscar Wyatt (wiki), 97, American businessman who was involved in the Oil-for-Food Program scandal in '07, looks absolutely f***ed in these pics from 8 days ago. Unpicked in the DDP this year. I imagine there's a good chance of him getting a QO.

Golden Age of Hollywood star and Oscar nominee Cara Williams (wiki) dead at 96. Also once married to actor John Drew Barrymore (1932–2004), and mother to John Barrymore III (who in turn is Drew Barrymore's half-brother). Mentioned on here in Ideas and Possibilities threads as far back as 2011, and played in several pools. Dying just in time to be featured in TCM Remembers 2021, but surprisingly not picked in the DDP (last time was in 2019!). That may prove to be a fatal blow in us breaking that record for # of hits.

NY Times obit for Giannini as confirmation.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
Hmmm... The Italian wiki page for Swiss-Italian actor Paul Müller (en wiki) was recently edited to say he died on 2 September 2016 (aged 93) in Tivoli. The source attached simply says "Registry office of the municipality of Tivoli". His last credit was in 2015. I'm inclined to believe it, though that's quite a "big" name to die off radar.
