    FIFA World Cup Players

This is a weird case. Every site online refers to him as "Ian "Jimmy" Binning" but his birth certificate says James Binning. Born 1922 in Blantyre. The confusion over his birth year arises from the fact that there was a John Binning born in 1927 in Blantyre. Whoever that man was he died in Glasgow around 2004. Scotland's People confirms the footballer died in Airdrie in 1991, aged 68.

Why does that matter? Loads of us on here are Wiki editors. It’s not exactly a secret or a big reveal. No need to try and “out” people on here by their Wiki users. It’s not appropriate. Mind your own business.

    The 100 Club

Yes, I wondered that last week. Though they don’t have everyone included on that site. He was alive up to 2019 but I reckon he may have passed since. The GRO update will reveal the answer.

    Ideas and possibilities 2022

Didn't we cover this already? He has some kind of mobility issue. I can't remember. Use the search. I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with him given I was told the other day that he's due to replace Simon McCoy on the GBNews breakfast show. Plus he's on so many TV ads (not as many as bloody Schofield though).

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2021 Deathlist

I think it's both. Larry King and Sarah Harding were stupid misses IMO. Very ill names should be prioritised.

Don't think so. IMO it's more to do with lifestyle differences. Back then footballers in Britain used to smoke and drink a lot whilst they were still playing. When they retired from the game they'd continue down that path. A lot of notable UK players/managers have died from liver and lung problems, incl. cancers. This behaviour continued up to the 1980s. My mum's first husband is a former professional player and manager (who will remain nameless) and I've seen the way him and his former colleagues live now, including their consumption. It's not at all commendable. On the flip side to this, it's now the polar opposite in the UK. A lot of these guys don't drink or smoke at all now, and their diets are super healthy, as the standards and training are so demanding. I know two guys, one early 30s, the other 21, who are professional footballers in Scotland. They've never had a drop. Changed days. Ofc some players still have the odd blowout, which often makes the papers, but it's rare.

Help needed to verify a death. Does anyone have a Wall Street Journal subscription, OR can somebody bypass their paywall?

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2021 Deathlist

Yes I done goofed! Though he was on a chat show in late September and still working hence why I thought he’d go on, but at 90+ anything can happen I guess. I still don’t think we should pack the DL with active nonagenarians. Dick Van D, Lansbury and the Queen proving why it’s a bad move.

Think we already covered this one earlier in the year? According to the residency records, yes's she's still alive in Seattle, Washington, and turned 92 in September.

Telegraph obit. That's a huge obit for the Telegraph too. Quite a fascinating guy, and a rare modern day eccentric.

    Enough With The 1800S Already

I used to feel this way, and I agree that Dr. Young's attitude online comes off pretty badly, BUT try to look at it from his perspective. >He comes across new cases all the time, then makes the effort to get in touch (mostly by himself, on limited funds and with limited help I will add). >He then requests evidence from the family. In many cases they don't have it, or in the Susano case, they piss around for months and then years constantly saying that it's "coming". >Whilst he's doing this, the family is more concerned about talking to every newspaper, broadcaster and website that will entertain their elaborate story, and they continue doing this for years without presenting proof. If I was Dr. Young, this would irritate me to no end too. This case stinks of a hoax IMO.

    Enough With The 1800S Already

The thread for her at the 110 Club site is very telling. Robert Young of the GRG is pretty dismissive of this case and he’s the ultimate authority on this topic. Despite media spin that Guinness World Records are “in the process” of verifying her and that her relatives “are sending the evidence soon”, the reports of her from 6+ years ago said the exact same thing. The evidence won’t come as it doesn’t exist.

Newspaper obituary for Dorothy Claire. This one took me far too long to find! As for "Doc" Goldberg, his real first name was Edward. The person on that forum says he died in either Jan or Feb 1988. There is a death record for an "Edward Lord" in brackets it has "Edward Goldberg" written. He died in Jan 1988 and was born in 1913 in Brooklyn, NY. That's the closest record I could find. Just a hunch, and by no means a strong match. Anyway, you're correct. Ray Anthony is definitely the last surviving member. He was still playing his trumpet last year. He'll be 100 in January. It'll be a sad day when he passes.

Just checked this one out. Yes – she's still in the residency records up to 2021. She turns 78 next year so born 1944. I would expect the media to pick up on her death given that she's the only surviving child and also the sole living benefactor of his estate.

There are at least 2 others from The Glenn Miller Story still alive. Alan Copeland (wiki), a member of the Modernaires appears in the film. He's 95 and still kicking about. Deborah Sydes (IMDb), child actress in the film is still alive according to the residency records. She's only 70! Copeland, Sydes, Tempo and Ross were all uncredited ofc.

Agreed. Though for deadpooling purposes, we should encourage ITV to round up a bunch of notable octogenarians and make them swim in fish guts.

    Voice Actors

I saw this yesterday. The tweet is from a day or two ago, and the poster hasn't deleted it despite the fact that it looks like a hoax that started on her Wiki page. The person who changed her Wiki page added the "dead or alive" bot site as a source then instantly marked it as a permanently dead link, which is what hoaxers on there sometimes do to avoid automatic detection. Still could be true, but I doubt it. She seems to be pretty prominent in her field.

    Joe Biden

“The physician said routine surveillance was recommended for the finding and that Biden would be due for his next colonoscopy in seven to 10 years.” There is no way this man will be around in 10 years.
