    Boxing Clever?

Just watched a BBC interview with boxing promoter Bob Arum (wiki) about the Tyson Fury fight. Arum is 90 in two months. He looks and sounds incredible for his age. Here he is yesterday, looking livid and snapping at a reporter, telling him "shut the fuck up you little prick". A future name for the 100 Club?

I love it how every. single. time. someone reports a big death, you like to come in immediately afterwards, burying it with the non-news of some complete non-entity dying as if you want the spotlight instead. This obscure bloke has been listed on Deaths in 2021 on Wiki for over 24 hours. We've all seen it by now.

    By -Election Bingo 2019-2024

I think you're confusing the demographics. Chesham and Amersham voted 55% Remain in the referendum. Old Bexley and Sidcup voted 64% Leave. Why would Labour allow the Libs a clear shot at anything? They have no pact nor sympathies for the Lib cause. They didn't even do that in Chesham – Labour campaigned hard yet it was the voters who strategically switched to the Libs. This is Old Bexley and Sidcup though: General election 2019: Old Bexley and Sidcup[7] Party Candidate Votes % ±% Conservative James Brokenshire 29,786 64.5 +3.1 Labour Dave Tingle 10,834 23.5 -5.8 Liberal Democrats Simone Reynolds 3,822 8.3 +5.0 Green Matt Browne 1,477 3.2 +1.5 The Libs are absolutely nowhere in this seat. It's not theirs to win if it does switch hands.

Given that the site you quote was compiled by our very own @Canadian Paul, who is an authority in that area, I wouldn't doubt its accuracy.

    The Beatles Death Curse

@YoungWillz, there's a tribute site for Pease here. It tends to suggest that she died from pancreatic cancer.

    World War II Veterans

Possibly just general ignorance. There were scores of Facebook military groups that spoke about him and some were directly in touch. I can't see anything about his death on there. He was born in London in 1920 as Michael Sadler, and was living in Cheltenham a few years ago. I can't see anything on Ancestry or the Probate records which even remotely matches this. In danger of sounding like a broken record here, but we really really really need the GRO to be updated. It's getting ridiculous now. Was just thinking that earlier when I saw @YoungWillz pull up that tweet about Gayleen Pease dying off radar. We could've potentially confirmed that on there as she was British.

Updated for the death of John Rossall, who died on Saturday morning. Despite Gary Glitter being older than all of the Glitter Band members, he's outlived 3 out of 6 of them. Once again, I reiterate that only the good die young!

    Political Frailty

This 2014 book, written by one of his successors, mentions that Onorio is dead. Suggests that it was sometime during the 1980s. I did think there was a small chance of him being alive, but I guess this pretty much cements Mustafa Ben Halim as the oldest living former world leader.
  20. You’ll never come to understand that, nor will you succeed in getting anyone to speak openly about it when your first point of interaction on a forum whenever politics is concerned is to slag off said party, it’s leaders, it’s policies and it’s supporters. As I said, I’m not indulging in this. Likewise, if I’m chapping on doors, I don’t waste my time trying to encourage ppl to vote one way if they’re dogmatically endorsed in hating your brand. You move on and talk to the floating voters and soft Lab/Libs next door. The next GE is in May 2023 (not official yet but briefed behind closed doors). The Conservatives, despite not doing the best job under Johnson, are on course for a 5th consecutive victory. Labour are unelectable. Still too busy with their civil war, whilst the only soundbites of theirs that are getting coverage are when they’re telling the population how to think, how to act, how to feel. Particularly when it concerns issues surrounding race and gender identity – which hardly any cunt outside of the M25 gives two fucks about. Normally I’d tell you the Conservatives are the stronger choice because they’re libertarian, low tax, entrepreneurial, more economically sound, believe in self responsibility etc etc but I don’t think any of these labels apply now. The Tory Party of 2021 is barely recognisable to what it was in 2015, and I personally don’t believe it’s as strong – be that it’s leader or policies. The only reason they are going to continue to win is because of how bad the alternatives are. Likewise in Wales and Scotland, Welsh Lab and the SNP will continue to win as the respective oppositions are failing to pierce through. We are in a period of maintaining the status quo for a while to come yet, so there will be loads more for you to rant about YW

Eugenia Cooney vs Nikocado Avocado: Who Will Die First?

Personally don’t understand that moral line. Who’s to say that people who suffer from terminal illnesses like cancer don’t suffer just as much, if not more, than those who have mental illness leading to weight problems? Your line of thought probably lies along the lines of “well they’re mentally ill, so being like that isn’t within their control” but likewise many cancer cases are not self inflicted or their “own fault”. So what’s the difference? Also, I don’t think either of them are that way “because of” strangers on the internet. They have pursued a path and then objectified themselves (and btw, both make a lot of money from it). On the contrary, a lot of the comments on their videos seem to be from ppl asking them to seek help or take better care of themselves.

Eugenia Cooney vs Nikocado Avocado: Who Will Die First?

I went for Nikocado. It's the pace at which he's doing it to himself. Here's him at 28 (i.e. now) vs. him at 24:
  23. Potentially, depending on how you look at it, because the decriminalisation or even reclassification of illicit substances has barely been discussed in Parliament in recent times. It's something that needs to be addressed. If it was, and in said discussion they took a hardline stance supporting criminalisation, I'd agree that would be pure hypocrisy.
  24. I have no interest in debating someone on the internet about social policy. I'm not going to change your opinion on that as you've made it clear time and again that your loyalties lie with the Scottish nationalists. You are however being disingenuous by saying WM retains "all of the powers" to tackle drug death numbers. News to me that healthcare and policing are reserved matters? My point is you're starting to sound like a Daily Mail journo when you use recreational drug use during uni/early professional career, or indeed "adultery" in ones personal life to critique the credibility of someone you don't agree with. Let's be honest, if anyone wants to criticise Johnson/Starmer/Sturgeon, there's plenty of juicy material to indulge in without resorting to ridiculing their private lives.
  25. OK. Can you put your hand on your heart and say you've never done a line, smoked a spliff or taken a pill in a nightclub? I don't understand why some people still use moderated recreational drug use to condemn others, often coupled with other negatives, in order to make them sound even more unpalatable. Is this a generational thing? Because people in my own age bracket (25–35) don't tend to do that. It's 2021 and we still have a drug prohibition policy in place in the UK. Every time I think about that I can't comprehend it. It didn't work 30 years ago. It hasn't ensured less drugs on the streets, or less deaths. It's just a waste of police time, a waste of public money and if anything it just stigmatises users. That and, oh, there is nothing wrong with moderate drug use if people wish to indulge in that. Alcohol and smoking kill more people than cocaine or weed. Deaths in recreational drug use are often from excessive repeated use, overdosing, or mixing multiple substances together. So why are you weaponising it as a cardinal sin @YoungWillz?
