Leo van de Ketterij (wiki), guitarist for Dutch rock band Shocking Blue, dead at 70. Didn't play on either of their UK hits, i.e. Venus or Mighty Joe, but his death means just one of the five principal members of the group is still alive. That being Robbie van Leeuwen (wiki), who is 77 in October.

I’ll give him 2 months.

Thanks @YoungWillz, updated. Died 2nd April according to a post by a friend on Facebook. Via his marriage records (helpfully mentioned in his obit) he was Peter J D Gibson b. Jan–Mar 1943 in Cumbria.

Chloe Smith is all clear too as of yesterday.

Dick Leonard's death confirmed via the Association of Former Members of Parliament. No doubt a Guardian obit will be along shortly. Probably a Telegraph one too.
-
Confirmation.

10 days on and no sources. Just Twitter and a BritMovieForum post. Who do we have to ping? Guardian?

SAG-AFTRA Spring 2021 In Memoriam list available to read here. Don't have time to go through all of it today to see if there are any off radar deaths but I see we have a death date for Biff McGuire finally (March 9th). His death was reported on April 1st.

The Tuskegee Airmen existed from 1940 and became defunct in 1948. How could he have been a member aged 7? Edit: I should have clicked the link first. @alt obits guy, you've misread the headline. He was a historian specialising in the Tuskegee Airmen, and a member of one of their local associations. He wasn't a Tuskegee Airman.

Lambert Mascarenhas dead at 106 according to multiple posts on Twitter and Facebook.

The artificial insemination part isn’t relevant. The fact that the sperm used wasn’t his own is. With aristocratic titles, the entire tradition is built around maintaining a clear bloodline.

Mustafa ben Halim please

Dame Cecilia claiming he deteriorated during the weekend and is about to kick the bucket.

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020

Agree with all this except de Bono, who was a pretty big name. Disappointing month. -
Tran Thiem Khiem (wiki) has died in San Jose, California, aged 95. Not picked.

I always think of Blink-182 as being really young still, but it's quite sobering to read that Hoppus is 50 next year.

Floridian state senator Henry Sayler (wiki) died in late May aged 100. Another from my longlist. Legacy obit. Also a WWII veteran. His wife predeceased him in July 2020, aged 95.

Daniel Ivin (wiki), Croatian writer, politician and human rights activist, dead at 89. Child soldier during World War II and he was the youngest name on the List of notable surviving veterans of World War II on Wiki. Ivin was born in 1932. The youngest names on there now are 8 individuals born in 1930... meaning that there are no notable WWII vets under 90 now?

Hmmm, was it? His brother died from an aneurysm aged 40 iirc. Something in that gene pool?
