People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Finally, an obit appears for John Fraser Hart. -
Died 4 March 2016 in London. Confirmed by the GRO Index. BABSON, MAURICE 1925 GRO Reference: DOR Q1/2016 in BARNET (219-1A) Entry Number 513479172 I had a job finding him in the birth index to doubly confirm that there wasn't anyone else by that name born in 1925. Eventually found him. Maurice Babon born March 1925 in Whitechapel, London (and registered the following quarter). Either his surname was misspelled on registration (or when it was later transcribed) or he tweaked it slightly in later life.

So as we concluded earlier, Ruby Chappelle Boyd WAS alive when I posted this query. However, she died the following month, aged 105. Death notice.

Try using the search function for a change and maybe you'll find out.

You were educated? That’s worrying.

SIDNEY FUCKING COOKE. 98 in April. Only the good die young.
-
Has tour dates scheduled throughout 2025, released his latest album only last year. I would be in favour of his inclusion on notability measure but I’d give it a few years.
-
It’s just a rip off of the Liza Minelli one.
-
BBC now reporting he fled to "an unknown location". Think it's extremely unlikely that he's dead or is at any risk of dying anytime soon now. Worth remembering that his wife does have leukaemia though.
-
Looks like he died on 4th as per a death notice on Facebook here. Guillermo Rodríguez, 101, now the oldest living state leader I presume?
-
César Yánez Urías (wiki) dead at 104.
-
@arghton, decided to email Steve Lu's website today – got an immediate response from his secretary who confirmed he's still with us. Turns 106 in February.

I agree. Also shows how poor the analysis from "so called experts" on the BBC, Sky etc has been about this – all of them were saying months, maybe weeks, and it's looking as if we're merely days away from a total takeover. Question is going to be will Assad get out safe, or will he go the way of Colonel Gaddafi? My hunch is on the former but the whole thing is an absolute mess and happening so fast that I wouldn't rule out him being killed.

That's true but they can't all be age fraudsters. There must be a portion of people born in a place and time with poor records who are their claimed age. Anyway, he's dead and as you said he never officially held the title, just like the immortal Fraudster Singh. We move on – all eyes on Donald Rose, who looks pretty frail to me. Can see him being a 2025 faller.

Britain's "oldest living man" Haji Ghulam Mohammed dies just days before his 110th birthday. Also a WWII veteran. His age wasn't verifiable, owing the the state of British India that he was born and their poor records, however I actually think he may have been a legitimate claimant and I haven't seen any scepticism online. Britain's oldest man is now Donald Rose, who will turn 110 in just over 2 weeks. He is due to be validated early in the new year!

If anyone from The Times is reading this website, I suggest you go change your obit for John McNamee. Says he died on 29th November. Physically impossible given that his death was announced on 28th November, and that announcement said "he died earlier this week". Sloppy journalism...

Today the King stripped 6 people of their honours. Formal announcement and full list available here. Includes: Tory peer Lord Rami Ranger (wiki), stripped of his CBE for bullying journalists and making inappropriate comments about the Pakistani community Tech businessman Lawrence Jones (wiki), stripped of his MBE after being convicted of rape (currently in prison) Hong Kong academic Lam Shiu-kum, stripped of his OBE after being jailed for misconduct in office Accountant and Hindu Council UK boss Anil Bhanot, stripped of his OBE for comments deemed to be Islamophobic Duke of Edinburgh regional director Robert Johnston, stripped of his MBE – unclear why Church leader and homeless charity boss Michael Andrea, stripped of his BEM – unclear why Prior to 2023, it was exceptionally rare to be stripped of an honour but it seems to be becoming common place now. I think it's a welcome move when it comes to criminal convictions. I'm not convinced it should be done when people make stupid comments though. Everyone's done that at some point.

Christopher Hawkins (wiki), Tory MP for High Peak from 1983 to 1992, died off radar on 11 November 2023, aged 85. Updated on his Who Was Who profile. I'll update his Wiki page in a bit. Unusual for an MP who served multiple terms to die off radar, but I suppose Ben Ford was also in that boat.

Angela Alvarez (wiki) dead at 97. Billboard obit.
